The problem I'm having is that I don't think this particular cable is like the one that came with the monitor. I moved when I hooked up the monitor didn't hook up the audio and now I'm not sure what it looks like among my stuff I packed.

audio cables usually have a 3.5mm stereo jack on each end, sometimes you will have a green plug one end and a pink or other colour the other.

It will not matter which end you plug into the computer or monitor but you should plug it inot the green, line out socket on your motherboard/sound car.

Hope this helps

You have the standard data cable that attaches to the back of the computer (it's built in to the monitor), then you have your power cord. It is removable.

Have VA520 monitor - no sound from it - can't find a way to turn sound on. the computor volumn is on high.

I would double check to see if the audio cable is firmly connected with the computer and the monitor.

Make sure that the audio cable is coming out from the audio out (should be a green jack) and then going into the correct jack on the monitor. If that doesn't work try another audio cable and test.

Hope this helps

Monitor comes on with Acer name and then the next screen reads 'no signal' and that is as far as I get. Everything is hooked up correctly.

If the monitor comes up with a no signal and it is hookup correctly, you have more than likely a bad connection behind the LCD.
I would check all your connection points for bad or bent pins first.
Then if you have the ? pull the panel of the LCD and look for problems.
Its almost positive that your cable is bad from the PC to the Monitor.

Monitor comes on momentarilly, then screen turns black. when power is turned off and back on again, screen comes on for a second, then goes black again. Is this a bad monitor?

The only problem that causes the power on and off is a bad power supply. Go onto and search for the monitor (power supply). My dad's old LCD screen had a bad power supply, but I found my old printer power cable (HP PSC 750 All-in-One Printer), and the monitor turned on successfully. It's not a bad monitor, unless the PSU hookup is like the PC ATX/Baby-AT PSU cable, then it might be the issue. Monitors before 2004 or 2005 have the ones, like the HP PSC 750 uses. The monitor is either defective, or the power supply is dead.

p.s.: check the voltage, amp usage, etc. on the PSU for the monitor for better results.

Plug the audio cable into the LIME GREEN port on the computer.

You can onlly use a DVI cable if your Video Card has that kind of connector.

Trust me, you don't need one. Use the D-shaped 15 pin connector.

I cannot find the hole to plug in my Comcast Cable hookup?

You are missing the Coaxial Adapter.

At the search by dialog box at the top right, type SYNCM910MP
You should find 16 parts for your LCD monitor.
Click on 3705-001191 which is the 2nd part listed.
The part title is called CONNECTOR-COAXIAL, MALE TO FEMALE.

You can download the manual at Search 910mp and download the 20mb user manual for tips on setting up and troubleshooting. Good Luck.

DVI connection not working

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!
