On the GE Adora machines, if the unit is not getting the correct power, the unit will not go beyond the fill point to wash. You will need to replace the "power inverter" on the unit. Here is the part you need to order.
i am down for that cause we lost tons of clothes cuase of this issue and my wife been telling me to fix the problem i havent really look into it but after reading this post i have a good idea of what it could be the problem but i really want to put a complaint to eg and consumer affairs so they can do a recall and we all can get refound on all this clothes and moneyh spend on the washer
Clothes washing rules for mildew stink: 1) never leave clothes in machine for more than a few hours 2) never add too many detergent or clothes 3) clean the machine itself. Also if your fabric softener port is gummy there is a good chance you got some funk from that so clean all places where you have fabric softener contact. After all that, if this doesn't help you may need to run an empty load of strong hot bleach water and follow it with a hot empty rinse then a load of whites
to becareful not to ruin your colored clothes
the larger capacity maytag with the larger gears in the transmission can break. the standard transmission on some of the ge are bad, the coupling breaks in the kenmore and whirlpool if you overload. I still like maytag the best and I have been in the appliance business 19+ years
