ASUS BIOS WONT BOOT

Having completed the pc with processor memory & SSD, I successfully loaded windows 7, and Office. All went well and the pc was working fine. Except that I had previously messed with boot order and went in BIOS to put SSD first. Having saved that PC simply will not boot, ie the the ASUS logo does not appear. All ssems well the green led is on the red is not. I have tried to reset the CMOS as the manual says without success. Can you suggest a solution. James

Telikin bios

They run on Linux. There is a BIOS, but I don't know if it's locked out though.
The Telikin Freedom looks like a full laptop
  • Intel Quad Core 1.83GHz Processor
  • 4GB SDRAM
  • 500GB hard drive
It should run any modern windows.

The other ones listed are very low specs.
Telikin Breeze
  • Intel dual core 1.8GHz processor
  • 2GB SDRAM
  • 16GB solid state drive
Telikin Silver
  • Intel J1900 Celeron Quad Core processor, 2.4GHz
  • 2GB DDR3 Memory
  • 32GB Solid State drive
Unless you can find a way to upgrade the SSD,
Windows 7 fills up 30GB by itself, 8/8.1/10 are also out of the question. None of these work well with only 2GB memory either.
You might be able to run Windows XP on the 32GB Silver.

Deleted partition on asus eee pc900

If you set the bios to boot from USB. Place your USB Bootable stick into the USB socket and boot from it.
Windows will find the hdd and format it before putting Windows on it.
What has happened is the hdd name is missing from the system and it requires initializing before you can see it.

Asus k501 wont load says bootmgr missing

You would need to do a windows start up repair. Look up the F key needed to go into the factory restore manager should be F12 or F10 but when you 1st boot the pc up b4 or while in the ASUS splash screen look at the very bottom of screen it will tell you there which F key to hit.

How do I wipe my hard drive clean and restore it to the way it was when I purchased it

If you have the original disc drive installed (and the original OS), try pressing F9 repeatedly after turning on the computer. (Sometimes, it can be hard to get the timing right - the button press needs to be seen after the POST and before Windows loads. If you see Windows starting to load, let it finish loading and then shut down the computer and try again.)

This will access the recovery partition and reformat the computer and restore the machine to the factory state. Follow the on-screen directions and make sure that you have saved your personal data elsewhere.

However, if your computer has the ASUS boot booster, you will need to disable this feature to access the recovery program. Try pressing F2 or Delete (depending on your machine) to enter the BIOS with the same timing as the above use of F9. Then find the option to Disable the boot booster. Then press the F9 key on another start up cycle. My ASUS computer doesn't have this feature so I'm not sure where it may be in the BIOS (if on your computer).

Asus offers a WinPE wipe and recovery option for some of their computers that can be put on a USB flash drive. http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20091019013723218&board_id=20&model=Eee+PC+1005HA&page=1&SLanguage=en-us has the procedure for one of their other models.

I hope this helps.

How to Replace Bios? Boot & Reformat Attempts Hang (on every HDD) - I guess BIOS is Corrupted

You can go to the manufacturer web site and go to support then to drivers and downloads there should be a BIOS flash software utility at their site. Click Here to go there. Select your model and make sure it is the correct one. I would also go for the automatic driver update, this will find and seek any drivers for your laptop that are needed, missing, or upgrade them.
If that does not provide the info you need their is also a support number as well as live chat at the link above. I hope this assisted you in some way. John

I have ASUS x5dc. I have installed windows 7 64 bit. Can i change OS?. My laptop is very slow.

Windows 7 is a very good operating system. But, the laptop may have a slow processor. Try to see if you can upgrade the processor to a core 2 duo or above. Also, try to upgrade or increase the memory to 2 gigabytes or above to 4 gigabytes if possible. The computer is guaranteed to speed up with memory and processor upgrades. Also, try to upgrade the hard disk drive to a SSD or Solid State Drive and you will see awesome speed.
