Are these buttons on your monitor? or Keyboard?

if they are buttons on your monitor you may have installed a graphic or colour balancing piece of software (maybe associated with an update to GFX card software) This would explain the reason they work so briefly, as this is the time in which the process that is causing your trouble, starts up.

Press Alt+CTRL + Delete to access the Task Manager in windows... go to the Process' panel, then take a good look thru to check if there are any graphic management software tools in startup.

try stopping some (this cannot do harm as all will reset on next re-boot) and seee if this helps.

Of course this possible solution check is only for monitor related issues.... if it's keyboard, then it's a totally different issue... Although still likely to be recent software installation related.

Could also try typing msconfig in the 'run' box to get access to a selective startup which will let you narrrow down the new and possible baddies - however i should warn that you Can Do more trouble with MsConfig that you aimed for if you are a novice user.

give more detail and i will attempt to help you further.

good luck

Screen does not show anything is black

Hello there,

First, lets check the connections

Unplug all wires connected to the monitor
Then replug all the wires and make sure that everything is fit and snug. there must be 2 sets, one for the power and the other is attached to the computer.

then make sure to clock the power button once the set up is complete.

check if there are any lights on the monitor.

Dont forget to deave a feedback and testimony if it works.

Monitor power button just flashes blue then yellow , does not work on other computer or other cable. Though it has to be solid yellow, It flashes even with no video cable. Thanks in advance for any...

If you have the power button "on" on the monitor and you unplug the vga cable from your monitor you should get a messege about the cable being unplugged. Sometime the inverter in the monitor can go out and you will be left with a very dim screen or no image at all. You can call up a local computer store and see if they can test the monitor for you. Taking the monitor into a repair shop will more then likely cost you more then a new monitor. I would check to see if the monitor is still under warranty or simply just replace it.

Best of luck..

try this: unplug monitor and detach it from the PC . Then push in the monitor ON button and hold it for at least 60 seconds. Replug it and it likely/may work --you are basically resetting it.

No menu

One of the buttons on the front of your monitor is probably stuck.
(Only one of the buttons work at a time on most monitors)

I cannot recommend taking it apart your self (have a tech do it)
But take off the front, check the buttons after you take off the front, and if it still occurs unplug the buttons from the monitor.
If it stops (which it should) replace or fix the controls)
If it doesn't, call an exorcist (just joking) or buy a new monitor.

Check the buttons on your monitor for possible shorts. Sometimes pressing a sequence of buttons while turning the monitor on will lock the OSD.
