Question about Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite

Open Question

Not enough disk space, cannot burn.

Just recently, I cannot burn DVD. EMC 10 returns a "not enough disk space" even though I do. I have used this program successfully in the pass. I still can burn if my used space is about 1/3. Also I notice on "My computer" my blank DVD are showing 0 bytes avail and 0 bytes used. Need help.

for me the same, Anyone can help?

  • j-chan1 Oct 31, 2008

Well, I solved my own problem. The "not enough space" error from Roxio EMC10 was referring to my hard drive. I cleared some space on my "C" harddrive and now Roxio EMC10 is running fine now.

Windows still see 0 bytes free and 0 bytes used but it is not effecting the burn process in Roxio.

SOURCE: When burning dvd movies 5-6hrs.long error msg.not

Those DVDs can only hold 120 minutes of video. You'll have to cut up the video footage to 2 hour blocks, or change the recording options to burn a data DVD versus video DVD and compress the 6 hour long videos down to less than 4.7GB total.

sounds like it is lagging during conversion, while its converting try not running any other programs and leave it work away on its own, another trick is to tell it to save to your hard drive rather than burn it to disk

In Roxio Creator 10, I attempt to burn a disk of a slide show. I receive an error message 8004520C When I check production it reports no problem. This is repeatable.

Generally, defragmenting your hard disk will resolve this issue. To defragment your computer:

  1. Go to Start--> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Defragmenter.
  2. When the Disk Defragmenter window opens, choose Defragment.

If defragmentation doesn't resolve the issue, burn your project as a data file, and then burn your project as a data disc using Disc Copier or Creator Classic. To create a disc image/data file:

  1. After clicking the Burn button, the Burn Project window opens.
  2. You have two data burning options:
    • Image file - this option will save your project as an .ISO file. To burn this file you will need to use the Burn Image option in Creator's Copy section.
    • Folder Set - burning a folder set will create a Video_TS folder that you can burn using Creator Classic. Burning a folder set to DVD will create a fully functional DVD. Do NOT rename the Video_TS folder other wise it will not play! Simply place it in a folder that is the name of your project if you need to keep track.

Roxio media creator 7,closes when i go to burn dvd

Do you have sufficient RAM and hard drive space? This product needs lots of resources and your hard drive needs to be defragmented otherwise problems like this will occur. It just runs out of space to do things and gives in often with having enough space to tell you what has happened.

What type of DVD do I need to use with this computer inorder to burn a DVD? Does it have to be a rewriteable disc?

Hi Mark here.

Yes you will need DVD-R (or) DVD+R to burn a DVD these are single burn only, once there written you cannot erase them.

DVD-RW & DVD+RW are rewritable and can be used multiple times.

Also check your drive it should say on front what disk it can use some will not burn different DVDs and others will burn all.

Hope this fixed ya! Pleas rate. Good Luck! Need more help comment back.

Sonic MyDVD - not enough disc space

well, sonic dvd creates temporary files. I noticed it doesnt delete those files. they are somewhere in documents & Settings\(user)\
i can't seem to recall the exact place but its either under Application data or Local Settings\
you can check the disk size for these two folders and or the size for sonic folder in these two. would take few clicks and im sure you will reach there.
sorry for the partial answer as its been over 2 years when I had to find the missing disk space =)

Burning disk

A DVD - R disk means DVD Read disk, therefore, in order to burn a DVD you will need a DVD RW (meaning Read + Write)

Also, confirm if you DVD drive accepts DVD(-) and / or DVD(+) disks
