My HP C309g printer says,

MY HP c309g printer says : Please re-insert or lower the photo tray. The photo tray is completely out now and I don't know how to reinsert it.

This model appears to have several trays for print media see the manual. Check the default print settings by right-clicking on the printer icon in the Printers and Faxes folder and see that the default is set to what you print most. Also verify all trays are inserted properly and that you have plain paper in the paper tray.

SOURCE: Ink Failure on HP photosmart premium C309g printer

Turn off the machine, unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, remove the ink cartridges (lift the lid up at the base of the control panel), wait 2 min, plug the power cord back in, press the on button, wait until the printer prompts that the ink cartridges are missing, then replace the ink cartridges. If this doesn't fix the problem you may have to re-prime the ink lines to clear the error. SOURCE: HP C309G INK SYSTEM FAILURE

  1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
    NOTE: The USB cable connects to the port on the back of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon (c01424575.gif ). Figure 2: Example USB connection (your product might not look exactly the same as this example)c01651067.gif
  2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
  3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
  5. Wait 60 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button (c01602202.gif ).
  7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
  8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
  9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
Solution two: Service the productIf you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Refilled my ink cartridges on hp 309g gets error message


Yes it does work on HP C309g-m if you place a cartridge one by one as follow:
1- open the cover
2- replace an original hp cartridge by the compatble non hp cartridge
3-unplug the printer
4- close the cover
5-plug printer back on
6- press ok to all messages
7-repeat from step 1 to 6 above for each new non hp cartridge
Et Voila.

I replaced all the ink carts in my hp photosmart premium c309g printer know the blak wont print at all and all the color prints faded. What do i do?


The ink may not reach the printhead completely.
You could wait at least 1 hour before printing.
Also do a ink cleaning cycle.
