Power on but no display

AIWA- AV-DV57U Power is on but when I hit the power button again a stream of different color lights run across the front and makes a clicking noise but the display will not come up. I was told something had to be reset.

Hello Coach T, Reset Instructions: 1. If pressing the power button does not turn the unit off, unplug the unit, then plug it back in. 2. Press the power button while pressing the ENTER button. This will bring the unit back to factory defaults. Please let us know if you need any additional help. Best regards, nightdiver

My Aiwa NSX 990 wont come on. Only timer icon come in display and volumew LED keeps coming on and going off at regular intervals

Unplug the power cable completely to turn off and then turn back on again. Check whether there are no lose parts with missing contact.
Most probably it looks like a deeply digital problem with no do it yourself solutions - bring it to the repairman, but I even doubt he would fix it.
You can also download the Aiwa NSX-990 service manual and analyze more specifically your case. Download it from here: or from here: (click "Download Now", not any other button).

I turn the unit on and it works for about a minute then powers down. The red light stays on. If I hit power button again it works but for less than a minute and it powers down again. Any suggestions?

try to check speaker wiring connection for possible short ckt. also check speaker itself, this amplifier have protection ckt that make unit off soon as short ckt detected.

Aiwa AV-D97 Power Issue. Just clcks when you hit the power button

The unit is most likely in protect mode. This means that the output section has a problem and the protection circuitry is preventing it from being turned on. This is to prevent further damage. The typical defective parts are the output transistors. Figure on $20-$40 for parts plus the local labor rate for repair.

Power on problem

Well this helped me find the relay but I found that after i pulled it off the board that it has some corosion around the metal prongs that hold it to the board. Could not get the relay open to do what is posted above , tryed opening it several times. Not sure if you are supposed to open it but could someone let me know. I am scraping around the prongs to get the corosion off hoping it will help but might just replace it alltogether. Further info on how to open the relay to do what is posted would help, I would appreciate any help, plzzzzz! :)

Sudden failure to power up

I've had this happen a number of times with my receiver. This trick from the Troubleshooting guide in the owner's manual usually does the trick: To reset If an unusual condition in the display window or malfunction occurs, reset the unit as follows. 1 Press the POWER button to turn off the power. 2 Press the POWER button while pressing the ENTER button. Everything stored in memory after purchase is canceled. If the power cannot be turned off in step 1 because of a malfunction, reset by disconnecting the AC cord and carry out step 2.
