I have an asus F3Sv laptop\ 8600m gs card\3gb ram\vista ultimate os\this machine has been fine for a year i play games on it (i know there not made for that)the last month or so it has taken to shutting down sometimes in a minute sometimes an hour and not only playing games but off the desktop to (random).there is no info in windows about disruptive shutdown in problems it just shuts off and i hit the power button and it starts back up fine. i used to play games for hours with no problems but now that is impossible.the desktop shutdowns are rare but games will not stay up at all...i hope that made sense

It could be a power problem when playing games.
When a games starts up the graphics card starts to draw more power from the system.
Its could be that your graphics card might need replacing or that your power supply might need upgrading. PC systems, more so gaming systems, like to have alot of power.
Also before this I would try and download the latest graphics card drivers, to see if that helps the problem.

I have a HP Pavillion a350n pre 2006/uppgraded 3G of ram, I want to use this computer primarily for gaming, what is the best Video Card to use???

as you already have 3GB ram, you can play most of the gaming now, but to play HD games, you have to buy a good Graphic Accelerator card (GAC), to see few options in GAC , check this link...http://www.gpureview.com/
thanks for rating good luck

It doesn't play =((

Do you get any error messages? Try Downloading the updated drivers and install them. Make sure you download the drivers for 64-bit vista OS. Now if it still doesnt work let me know.

No you don't have to install a 64 bit OS. Only if you install over 3 gigs you MUST install a 64 bit operating system. 800MHZ is fine it will just back down to 667MHZ. your 32bit windows OS will see up to 3 gigs (minus graphics card memory). SO 2 gigs will work fine. Install one stick at a time and check in the OS and bios to make sure each stick works. I would say you possibly have a dead ram stick.

Which Graphics card is suitable????

The is no solid answer because there are several factors to take into consideration.
First: Vista does not play games well yet.
It was released too soon and the Game Mfg's have not addressed the issue.
Many, many people are going back to XP OS. Do you know the MB mfg?
I am a Beta tester for a few game companies and for the most part, we use the BFG nVidia Video card. It is a GeForce based chipset. These cards are already Overclocked to their maximum and tested as stable. Lifetime Guarentee as well.
Is you MB a PCI-Express?
No matter what card you get, you still may not get to play the games until MS Vista gets in gear.

The F10 F11 F12 sound keys not working on my Asus F3S os Vista

Hi,

I don't know how to do to help you, - 2 solutions:

1. go here and specify if you pc is a F3Sc - F3Se - F3Sv and download the drivers. ( don't use driver detect, that will cost you....)
http://www.drivershq.com/Drivers/ASUS/F3-Series/13236/24543/Models.aspx

2. Reinstall, to WinXP, with that you get a computer leaving the table, with the speed you get on XP, but that's up to you. XP Drivers here:
http://usa.asus.com/search.aspx?searchitem=1&searchkey=F3S
- again, choos your model, and then your OS ie WinXP, - they are all there, - go on you asus.

Personally, I would not hesitate to install XP, but don't mind me, I have been working (full time as an adminisrator) with Server2003 and WinXP for years.

More ram and vdeo card

it sounds as if your MoBo is seeing the video adapter as a source of ram. if that is the case, then installing memory in units of 1Gb will cause a stick to not be seen, therefore utilized. you may want to refer to you manual for memory limits and poosible comparibility issues. they are usually quite in depth. also, make sure that they are all the same make model and speed. these issues have wreaked havoc on the prettiest of pc's.
