Spyware removal is a type of program that is created and spread to collect information about internet browsing actions of the computer. These data are then transferred to the creator of the spyware to use the statistics for online advertising. Spywares are spread through the shareware and freeware and peer to peer file transfers. Though spyware is also a type of malware, it is different from computer viruses in terms of nature and construction. Therefore regular anti virus software can not detect the spywares and you need spyware remover tools for detecting and removing the spywares from your PC.

A good start will be to go into norton protection centre an selectQUICK SCAN when this has finished select VIEW HISTORY you may find that the spyware/adware has rated itself as low risk and has been ignored .Select quickscan on the list of risks found and click MORE DETAILS in this page you will see OPTIONS -EXCLUSIONS on this page you will see on the left side LOW RISK POLICY click this and then change to REMOVE ALL LOW RISK CATAGORIES. Norton willnow deal with the spyware adware. While your in here you can manually remove anything picked up in the quickscan on the VIEW HISTORY page by highlighting it and clicking REMOVE button on the right of your screen

a bit long winded but it shoul help

Got Dr Guard on my computer how to get rid of it i have no Norton

Norton is useless, don't even think on using it.
Get this   http://www.malwarebytes.org/   instead. Install and run it to clean the junk.
After that get  http://www.avast.com/  as antivirus. It far better than Norton and Free for home use.

I have purchased Norton anti-virus protection - but recently had to reset my laptop so all the previous settings were lost. I have tried sending Norton/Symantec eMails to ask how to restore this - but so...

I suggest going with one of the free anti-virus solutions and ditching Norton. Try "AVG8 Free". I use it all the time and have never had a problem. It is free for personal use, but not free for corporate use. Just make sure you download the "free" version, not the commercial version.

The web address is:
http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe

A lot of people also like the free versions of Avira AntiVir personal, and Avast Home Edition.

Download.com (from C/Net) has them all as well, plus reviews.

I have Nortons Internet Security 2008 Premier Edition. I cant get it to work, it keeps thinking I need to buy a New Nortons? How do I make this one Work?

if you paid for this, you have to register it online with the product key that came with it, this will active it and allow you to use it. if this is not the case then i suggest you un-install norton and get AVG8 instead, this is free software and is far better than norton ever will be :)

good luck

We are a Church and do not have a credit card to enable me to renew Anti Virus Protection online. Is it possible to be billed and pay by cheque?

Do not renew your subscription. I am guessing it is Norton(Symantec) or McAfee, unfortunately both of these once reputable anitivirus applications have become loaded with a lot of intrusive software that eats up system resources and slows your computer down.
Use a free antivirus application like AVG, Avast or NOD32. These free applications are just as good if not better to be honest, than either Norton or McAfee.
Here is a link to download the free version of AVG 8.0.

I am the securities moderator on another forum and AVG is by far the most popular antivirus package.

Error 21is caused by missing System files or damaged registry stuctures. The only way i think you can repair it is to download Regcure and scan your PC.Once the Registry is repaired you can then uninstall Nortonshttp://simple-pc-help.com/support/downloadb.php

Dear Sir,

Generally, if Norton is installed once & uninstalled. It won't allow you to install again. Simple solution is to get the Norton Complete Remover from Norton website available as a free program to tackle these type of situation.

After you run the complete uninstaller, you can once again install norton your system.

Check on Norton website or else write to me, I will give you the link to download from..

Hard drive motor or bearings are on there way out I recommend to backup all you data onto another Hard drive you can use a program called norton ghost or if you can still find it a program called prep.

You may also try in the bios settings is to load defaults this may speed up the boot sequence.

Hope this is some help
