This sounds like a foreign object in the fuel inlet valve. You will need to go through the carb and clean/replace parts as needed.

Hi, Travis and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP, CKP, O2 and/or BAS).
11. Security alarm needs a reset.

I have a troybilt mower with a honda 160 engine (#gcv160an5a) that will not start. I have cleaned the carb, replaced the spark plug, cleaned the air filter, new gas and oil. The spark plug is dry after...

You may have to replace the carb. But before you do.Check the the fuel line. There is a small screen in the carb,it may be clogged.Inside the tank is a small cylindrical filter, make sure it is good.Break the fuel line at the in line filter,to make sure gas is getting to there,if it is the problem is in the carb.

Quad bike wont start-wont even fire

Hello if you ran out of gas i am not familiar with this motorcycle but honda and most street bikes the fuel petcock / fuel valve are vacuum actuated so when you run out of fuel you need to turn the fuel valve to primary to fill the carburetors once you get it started turn the valve back to the on position.
hope this helps.

Gas is dripping from the petcock fuel valve( cover set) on my 2005 honda VTX 1300. why? and how do i fix? It seems to be coming from a small hole underneath

Your bike has a vacuum operated petcock. The vacuum diaphram inside the cover set has cracked and is allowing fuel to leak from the vent hole. Unfortunately, you cannot buy just the diaphram, you've got to buy the cover set (#5 in the picture below), P/N 16953-KEA-023, or replace the whole petcock assembly (item #2), P/N 16950-MEM-674.278cd21.jpg

Leaking Fuel tap (petcock)

This sounds like a vacuum lock pet ****. 3 position? run, prime, and reserve? If you have it on pri, You will fuel running or not. If set on run, then you will only pass fuel when engine is running, and of course res. when tank is used up. Is this leak at the valve? or from the tank or internally flowing? Tis should also be a gravity feed fuel system, please correct me if I'm wrong. good luck. Long fuel lines are not prefered on gravity feed systems.

the fuel filter is in the tank on top of petcock that bike has a vacum operated petcock(fuelvalve)if the vacum hose is bad no fuel flow check the back of the fuel valve for a small hose that goes to the manifold make sure it is good put vacum on the hose wile hooked to the fuel valve and make sure that gas runs out of the hose give me a rate please hope this helps

Fuel petcock

The petcock is what the fuel flows through when it comes out of the gas tank. It probably includes: * A switch with positions for On, Off and Reserve. * A fuel line going to the carburetors. * A vacuum hose attachment which attaches to a carburetor which tugs on a rubber diaphram to let gas flow through. * An overflow/drip valve from the vacuum area. It's located right under the tank on the rear/left side.
