Re: wifi not getting on
Goto > CONTROL PANEL > DEVICE MANAGER, This will list every device on your system,Locate in the list NETWORK ADAPTERS,click it and it should say WIRELESS ADAPTER. If this is the case you need to RIGHT click on the wireless adapter and click the properties option. This will tell you if it is working properly,if the adapter is in fact still installed. It maybe just disabled in which case you just need to click the ENABLE tab. You can also click the UPDATE DRIVER which will quickly get any updates it might be missing. hope this helps

Uninstall and install again the driver, but if you are still experiencing same problem, I suggest that you bring your device to a service center to further check your software and hardware definitions.
There are a few requirements other than the laptop and the wireless card. You need to also have an Wireless AP/Router that must be connected to the modem that connects to your ISP. All your PCs must then connect to this router either using the wired/Ethernet ports or WiFi.
If such a device (WiFi AP/Router) already exists and is connected to your modem and your other PC(s) are tied up to it and can access the Internet, you need to install the drivers (in a CD that came with the wireless card) to your IBM ThinkPad. Thereafter, you need to configure your laptop's wireless networking to access the AP/router. Your AP/Router must also be configured to accept wireless clients.

To my knowledge, your laptop (IBM ThinkPad X30 2672) does not have any built-in WiFi. It's modes of connection are IrDA, modem, Ethernet, USP, Firewire aside from the regular serial & parallel. This would indicate that if you are wireless you either have a USB dongle or PCMCIA card. Please post back with your WiFi brand/model and your Operating System. Further, please post back likewise your WiFi AP/Router brand/model.
The message "a network cable is unplugged" pertains to the absence of a lan cable connected to your Ethernet port.
