Question about Canon RC-1 Remote Control

1 Answer

Canon Remote RC1

I can set up the timer on my Canon EOS450D camera intending to use the RC1 remote, but it doesn't work. The automatic timer kicks in instead and I can't get the Remote to work instantly. I have followed the instructions over and over and it just doesn't work.

There is a switch on the back of the remote, a number 2, a dot, and an L in a square, set the switch to the dot mode and then try.

Press cursor-left (marked with the overlapping frames, infrared remote, and one-handed clock symbols) to bring up the self-timer modes. Select the third item (infrared remote and clock). This sets the self-timer to ten seconds and also allows the infrared remote to work.

How do u use the rc6 for instint photos not two second. What do you set on the camera. 5D mark ll

don't set for 2 sec, set the camera to 10 sec self timer and click the remote, should work instantly with every click. just remember to set for regular shooting if not using the remote. can be very annoying to wait 10 sec for a shot, unless you want to be in one?

Dvd recorder remote control

Anytime your unit displays RC1, 2, or 3 - the remote code needs to be reset. Other messages are "chk remote n" or "set n", n being the number 1, 2 or 3. These remote codes are set in case you have multiple products that interact w/ the remote - so when operating one device the other doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, every now and then for completely unknown reasons, they can slip out of the proper code. All you have to do (if your remote is, in fact, functional) is press and hold the number on the remote that corresponds with that which displays on the unit - in your case the number 3, and hold the Enter key at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds. This should resume operation shortly thereafter. However, you will not see any confirmation on the display as you are performing this reset. It is trial and error.
