It appears your thermal fuse has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

How to connect the power to the dryer

most likely 240volts as most 120 volt dryers are already wired,depending on if its a 3 or 4 wire system depending on local electrical codes,but if its a 3 wire cord,take the RED to terminal L1 and Black to L2 terminal on the dryer terminal board HINT:(the RED and Black can go on either L1 or L2 they are interchangable) ,then the White wire to the N neutral terminal on the dryer terminal board usuall between the L1 and L2 terminal,if theres a Green Wire on the cord this is safety ground and can be attached to any metallic part on the dryer,if its a gray flat cord the 2 outside wires are L1 and L2 the center is Neutral,
so its:
RED=L1 or L2
BLACK=L1 or L2
WHITE=N or Neutral
GREEN=Safety Ground the metal dryer frame

I have a 3 prong plug on a kenmore 400 dryer. can I change it to a 4 prong, and how

yes,red and black on the cord go to L1 and L2 on the dryer which is the 2 power wires for the required 240volts, then the white wire is the neutral wire that in on the neutral terminal or possibly marked N most times its located between the L1 and L2 terminals,then the green wire on the cord goes to the metal body of the unit for your safety ground

I have a Kenmore 90 series electric dryer that will not heat. Model is 110.62922100. I have the schematic and have checked all the thermostats, thermal cutoffs,timer contacts,the motor rotational switch,...

Check your breaker box. If one side trips it will run but will not heat. Common problem. Try checking L1 to N, and L2 to N, you should have 110 and 110 if you dont than it,s your breaker. I would just check your breakers. Make sure you give me a thumbs up if I am right.

New GE Profile dryer DPSE810EG7WT does not work. I wired exactly as old dryer. L1 L2 and neutral. The timer comes on but the machine does nothing! Thanks, Roger

if this is a gas dryer you would only need L1 OR L2.... NOT BOTH PHASES, this unit only needs the one leg of either A 120Volts or B 120Volts phase NOT BOTH PHASES 240 volts A.C. not 240 V.A.C. as in an electrically heated element will require to heat the system, NOW ...be careful now because one hot phase is connected where it shouldn't be!!!!

Kenmore dryer 3prong cord installation diagram

if its a" flat cord" what-ever color jacketed 3 wire cord, the 2 outside wires are your 2 hot power wires they go to L1 and L2 on your dryer,the center is the N neutral wire and goes to the N terminal,usually the L1 and L2 are a gauge larger than the neutral: HINT: the center is normally neutral on both the cord and machines terminal board in the back of the dryer,there usually is a diagram on the dryer on how to install the input power at the place you hook up power

I am getting a lens error message on my nikon coolpix L2 Camera

Try cleaning out any grit in the lens barrel with compressed air and wiggling the lens gently. If that doesn't do it, the camera needs servicing.

Drier has stoppd heating. Exposed heating element. Coils not glowing. notice that coil is for 240 v and we are in the USA, on 120 v system. Continuity test of coil causes light to only flicker.

You need the dryer supply voltage to be 240VAC for the heater. Everything else runs off one leg of that or 120VAC L1 (Black)-Neutral(White)-L2 (Red)
L1 to L2 = 240vac
L1 to Neutral=120vac
L2 to neutral = 120vac

GE dryer barely heating

If this is an ELECTRIC dryer, you're supposed to read 120VAC at both L1 and L2. With the cord UNPLUGGED, check the voltage across L1 and l2 at the wall receptacle. You should read a cumulative of 220-240VAC. If you're only getting 120VAC, the problem is at your receptacle, which would explain why the dryer is not heating. The heating circuits and timer require 220VAC, while the drive motor only requires 120VAC. If the power at the receptacle is good, leave the dryer unplugged and check the continuity of the power cord from the end of the plug at L2 to the terminal block at the back of the dryer. You should read a short or 0 ohms. If the continuity of the plug is good, the problem may be a loose connection at the terminal block or a broken wire. If the continuity is bad (open), then it looks like you may have a bad power cord. Please post back if you have questions. I hope this helps you.

Dryer runs but doesn't heat up when sttings call for heat.

You may need to do some troubleshooting. This can be done with the machine unplugged - you may have to activate the start switch, belt switch (if it has one) and the motor centrifugal switch manually.
Tip for troubleshooting 220v systems - clip one lead of a ohm meter to either L1 or L2 on the terminal block. It doesn't matter which one. According to the tech sheet (under console) follow the path for current from your clipped terminal, through the heating element, to the opposite terminal. All the readings should be less than 100 ohms, until you reach the failed part. Confirm failure by disconnecting a lead from the suspected part, and test only that part.

Live troubleshooting is sometimes slightly easier, but much more dangerous than the procedure described above. - It is definitely not recommended for beginners, or for professionals, if it can be avoided.
