Freezer cool, but Frig section is not cool

The freezer section iw working fine. However, the frig section is not working. I have set the dial to the coldest setting and this make no difference. The fan is running in the freezer section, but not in he frig section. Is there a fan for each section in the Amana? What do ou think is causing this problem?

It appears to get the evaporator cover off the ice maker motor assemble needs to be removed. Is this correct? I assume the cover you refer to is the cover in the back of the freezer section??

    Yes, I have a defost issue...this is for sure! Now I need to figure-out which part is the issue. I guess I will start with the thermostat. I can't seem to find your part number. The part number I see is as follows (of course this number is for this vendor);

I see why you say to splice the wire. What a poor design for changing the part! Anyway, the part "looks" normal. It does NOT seem to be "popped-out". From looking at the design it appears this part is a simple switch which completes the circuit to the heater element. The part is a bit costly. Does the part simply switch when (to a short circuit) it gets cold? I guess I can check it with VOM?

Volman, take a look in the freezer section and see if you have a heavy build-up of frost on the back panel. You want to take the evap cover off and see if the evaporator is frozen up. If so, your refer did not go into defrost and cannot move the air over to the refer side. If this is the case you will have to defrost that evaporator completely. On these Amanas the culprit is usually the bi-metal which sits on the evaporator. Look at it and see if it's buldged. The part number for the bi-metal is ro131661. If you defrost the evap your refer will start cooling again normally until it freezes over again. This will give you time to replace the bimetal....Catriver...post back.

Volman, take a look at the attachment. If yours looks like this, you have a defrost issue. More than likley it's the bi-metal...Catriver...post back.

Thats the part, it just defaulted to a different number. Look at the one that is on the evaporator now, if it is bulged and lifting at the top, this is your problem. An easier way to install the new one is to splice the new one in with wirenuts, seal the wire nuts with a little silicone and your done. Of course you have to defrost the evaporator first. Use a hair dryer. Unplug the unit when making the splices...Catriver..post back.

I have a kitchenaid, KSRS25RSMS01, refrigerator and the freezer is fine and the fridge is not cooling. I have checked the evaporator and it has normal frost, and the fan is turning fine, but the air coming...

Your frig has the classic symptoms of a frig with a clogged or blocked vent between the
freezer section and the refrigerated section. This clog can occur due to (a) stuff in the freezer blocking the vent, or (b) ice in the freezer blocking the vent, or (c) both of the above.

The way a refrigerator works is it cools the freezer, and the warmest air in the freezer is vented out
to the refrigerator section. If this vent is blocked (and everything else is working), your refrigerator
just became a eye-level small freezer atop a well-insulated section of dangerously warm food.

Frig doesn't cool. Freezer works fine. freezer

You have solved your problem :D You need to get that fan blowing. The vast majority of the time that is all you need. Other times, there can be another part controlling the operation of the fan (ADC - Adaptive Defrost Control). Post the model number and I will see if you have one of these ADCs in your appliance :D

Refrig compartment does not cool on my new Kemore Frig.

Check and make sure the fan in the freezer is running. if not possible bad fan. If fan is running, check to see if you have any ice built up on back freezer wall. Normally frost type ice. If so, you may possibly have a bad defrost bi-metal mounted in the freezer section. Next could be a defrost timer control. Model number usally will help more in getting it right.

We have a LG Two Side Fridge.

Look for the air ciculation regulator sliding vent between frig & freezer section open accordingly. Set both sides to #3 on dials if frig not cooling to less than 40 degrees, might need new cold/temp controller behind frig dial

Freezer to cold refrigerator not cold enough

sounds like your defrost timer is not working properly . Most fridge/freezers the fridge gets cooled from the cool air from the freezer . But when the defrost timer is not working properly the section between the fridge and freezer freezes up and hence doesnt allow the flow of cool air into the fridge. The defrost timer can be easily replaced.

Frig won't cool, freezer works fine

Defrost unit completely. You're frosting up. Then, avoid leaving the door open, leaving liquids and food uncovered. Clean condenser coils. If it happens again, you need refrigerant.
