Started getting DocTWAIN - Generic Error after 3 or 4 pages have scanned. Downloaded latest driver from mfg. Solution?

Whcih version of CapturePerfect you are using?
I use ver 2.0. In the settings page select scanners maximum. In the 'advanced' select auto detection. Then whatever size of the paper guides you choose, that will will be the width and ofcourse the length is automatic. There is a sensor under the paper guide, and it detects the paper width. Any rotation chosen will be after scanning the required size.

It is quite possible that there is another piece of software that is clashing with your Plustek OpticFilm scanner. It is hard to tell which software is having a clash. If you remove that software from your system you will obtain the desired results. I suspect the SP3 of Windows XP may be responsible for this because Microsoft has indicated that Windows XP SP3 is not for everyone. If you install Windows XP SP2 uninstalling XP SP3 your problem can definitely be rectified.

Open Printers and Faxes from the Start Menu (or from Control Panel)
Right click on the PS282 device and select 'Properties' from the popup menu

Message says generic error


Reinstalling the latest driver for your scanner should correct any software related issues.
You can find the drivers for your scanner here: Drivers V 4.2.2.2
1. Download the driver and save it to a folder on your desktop. You will then need to right-mouse click the file and EXTRACT the installation files. Do not run the installation with the scanner connected.
2. Turn off your computer and disconnect the scanner.
3. Restart your computer with the scanner disconnected and run the scanner installation program found in the folder, usually SETUP.EXE. Follow the prompts. Do not reconnect the scanner until prompted to or the installation ends.
Please be aware that the scanner installation file is 118MB and may take quite a while to download depending on your internet connection.

HAVE A REV SCAN 192001 BUT COMPUTER WILL NOT CONNECT TO SCANNER I DO NOT HAVE INSTALLATION DISC


Disconnect the scanner from your computer and go to Plustek's website (http://plustek.com/)
Download the driver that matches the scanner model and the version of Windows you are using.
Double click on the driver file you downloaded and connect the scanner when prompted or when the driver finishes installing.

I HAVE LOST CD FOR INSTALLATION FOR SCANNER PLUSTEK OPTIC Pro U12B. kindly tell how to install scanner in my computer


1.First download the scanner driver- ->Plustek OpticPro U12B driver(Windows XP ver.)_ 2.Save it somewhere where you will remember after download . We recommend that you save it on your desktop , so it will be easy to find ..
3.Double- click the file you downloaded .
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5.When it's successfully installed , please restart your computer
6.After you have restarted the computer , plug the scanner into your computer and it will automatically recognize the new hardware.

Cant find driver for plustek scanner 1248U

Just to the middle right of the page 3/4 of the way down is a box that says please enter verification code and then below it a download box. You will need to enter that code and then click download. Then install it on your computer. The driver works for OS up to windows XP.

remove all associated driver and scanner software reinstall all the software with the scanner and printer disconnected then rebootit all connected. Try again

Canon DR-3080 CII Scanner


I recieved this error when trying to scan pages in using our new Kofax scanning solution with a DR-3080CII. I discovered that the latest canon driver for that scanner was not compatible with the software and it made the application hang in the background. I found an older driver that was compatible and installed it, no more error.

Scanner will not scan


Various things[as usual] can affect the performance of a USB device, so check these out. 1.Too many USB device hooked up drawing power from the system - So if it is not in use -unplug it. 2. The driver and or software for the device has corrupted.- Re install 3.Too many programs of a similar nature [graphics in this case] running and confusing resources.- shut down those not in immediate use. Do check the Plustek website for the latest driver[s] A Golden Rule for clean and simple computing is if you are not using it - shut it down. Come back with this one let us all know how it goes.
