Question about Gaggia Brera Coffee Maker
There is a warning light showing a red warning triangle with an exclamation mark on it. This is blinking and the coffee machine will not do anything. I have descaled, turned off, unplugged, spoken nicely to and caressed the machine, but nothing is working. Pleading with it has also been unsuccessful so far. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have had this same problem - it is due to an airlock in the boiler/tubes. Simple solution is to use a syringe or similar and gently force some water up the intake hose from the tank, then try the pump again.

Make sure your filter in the machine and in the filter holder is clean, the filter in filterholder there you will see a little light in the middle if you head it to light, else you have to replace the filter.

SOURCE: gaggia classic machine
If I understand ...
Sometimes the "gunk" will collect behind the screen on the grouphead. There should be a screw there that you could removed and clean the screen and behind it.
I hope this is helpful.

The most common problem with these machines is scale. Using a good descaler to start with may help but may not always solve the problem. If your machine is noisy it is the pump which may need replacing. If you open the steam valve when making the coffee it will shift any air lock. Out with that you may have to remove the shower plate underneath where the coffee handle goes and give it a good clean. Also there is a safety valve inside the group head which may be clogged up. I am a domestic coffee machine engineer based in glasgow and have machines sent to me from all over the UK. It is hard to eally fix problems without actually seeing the machine as it could really be anything. Boilers are small so tend to fill with scale and ****. go to www.theespressoshop.co.uk if you require any more assistance.

Remove the brew unit and to the left of that is the the discharge area for the grinder, make sure that hole is clear, then adjust grind 1 number coarser, and check machine.
