The rotor position sensor is faulty or corroded. You will need to remove the motor to access the RPS. It is a small electronic board that slides onto the coils of the motor.

I have the same problem , was told that it is the RPS rotary positioning system, cost about $200 to get someone out to fix it.
Although I did reboot it and it went through the wash ok.

Fault 49 usually points to the cold inlet valve, either open circuit or not connected correctly. I often come across machines that the motor controller is the problem too.
