Nc6320 external power problem

My nc6320 does not always recognise external power. Switching the power on and off a few times does the trick but mainly, even though the power source is OK, the external power indicator is not shown and the battery continues to discharge.

Most case cause DC jack connection is not stable or damage
you may try
1) to open cover find out the DC jack 2 or 3 pins on the motherboard then to fix it use iron and flux.
2) check any disconnection DC/DC circuite near the jack
3) repleace the new jack if the jack damage

My HP DV9740Us entertainment laptop will only recognize one external hard drive at a time! If i plug in another via usb it won't pick it up in My computer but the computer makes the sound as if it did...

If these drives are internally powered by the USB hub, two devices will not be recognised. ie: you can have as many pendrives as you like and they will be seen, because they draw little power from the hub, however, a larger external hard drive requires more power (some of these in fact have two usb connectors to power them). which is why your laptop will only recognise one drive at a time:

Solution: If you can get an externally powered usb drive, this should work.Another and possibly cheaper way would be to get an externally powered USB hub, which would solve the problem

Laptop Screen goes blank

Are you running on battery or AC? Try using the power cord, remove the battery and see if it continues. I have seen a battery that is on its last legs do some weird things to a computer. Also, check your power management setting. Control panel, power, and set the computer to "always on" just to see if it could be a power management setting. If none of this works, i would back up all your files, and try to reload win xp from scratch.

Graphics Card buying help

Hi,
First of all you cannot change the graphics card in a laptop computer, they are integrated.
There aren't any external video cards for laptop gaming yet. There is a standard for removable laptop video cards called MXM, but few laptops actually use it.

This is the concept for an external video card >>>>

Unfortunately these devices cost a fortune (well over $100)

In conclusion if you wanted to up grade your graphics card you would need to purchase a new laptop with the graphics card you want.

Alien ware laptops come highly recommended.

Screen stays black on startup of toshiba satellite L300

have you tried either switching between external and internal monitor usally Fn + F5 on toshiba or try plugging a monitor into the back and see if it displays.
if you get a display on the external monitor then its probably a screen or inverter fault if you donot get a display to an external screen then it is likley t be the graphics on the board itself.
hope this helps

The easiest way to backup is to buy an external mini hard drive that comes with backup software - You can get 120gb 2.5" external drives for about $100 now. then it will allow you to backup all your files at once.

a good example is here:
