Check and replace all electrolytic capacitors in the vertical output section circuit. There will be 5 or 6 of them to replace. Replace all at one time. The fault you describes here is technically known as 'vertical retrace lines'. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for

vertical output ic needs to be resoldered. careful leaving that bright line displayed on the screen as this will cause a permanent phosphor burn into the tube. this can not be corrected once burned unless you replace the tube. mch
Sounds like a power supply fault. You could try replacing all capacitors in the power supply and others areas around the line stage, with the same values. You may also want to check the tuner or "IF" circuit for dry joints. Hope this will help you. Kind Regards, JUS004
hi there, your set has a capacitor problem, most of it are on the horizontal section and video section., usually 100 microfarad electrolytic capacitor with a high voltage is damage. try to test some parts. ty
