New power supply won't turn on

My PC was powering itself down and I replaced the Ultra 350W PSU with a RaidMax RX630Z 630W PSU and pluggd in the cables in the same locations the previous power supply had connected. However, when I try to power it on... absolutely nothing happens. It is still dark.

SOURCE: Computer will not turn on

Best way to check is to open your case. Near the power supply plug to the motherboard should be a little led light. If it is getting power to the board this light should be green. If it's unlit then most likely your power supply has gone bad. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: New power supply problem

One of the reasons that this could be is that the power supply doesn't have enough power to power everything. Trying exchanging it for another one that has more watts. If this is an exact replacement as far as the wattage goes, then your problem may lie else where, and you may want to take it to a reputable local computer repair shop for further inspection.

It never hurts to have a larger power supply, yes it have use 100watts more in a hour. But you should have better reliability with the 450W.

Not neccessarily. Depending on the power rating, your 350W PSU may not be strong enough to power this card.

I would get a new PSU anyway. They are cheap nowadays and yours is very small. It will barely be enough to boot up the computer and its devices let alone a power hungry graphics card

Psu wont turn on

Test the PSU. Unplug it from the motherboard and then with nothing connected, short the green wire to any ground (usually a black) using a paperclip and it should come on and stay on if the problem was with the motherboard/computer but if it shuts down, then you know the problem is the PSU itself.

If the PSU stays on under no load, then one possibility is you had too much connected to it and it shut down as a protective feature. The Bios would not beep if the PSU is shutting itself down. Also make sure you have the internal speaker connected. It's possible you just can't hear the beep because there is no speaker connected or it may be connected to the wrong place.

Don't throw away a defective power supply. It is worth a couple bucks as parts for an electronics enthusiast. Keep it out of the landfill.

Ultra 350 Power supply very loud fan

Hi,
It's not normal for the fan to be loud, what makes them loud is either a build up of dust on the fan blades or the bearings are going on the fan itself.
If the PSU is working fine then you can replace the fan itself from an identical PSU. It does mean taking the PSU out of the computer and fitting the fan yourself.
Alternatively you can purchase another PSU.

Thermaltake Power Express 450 problem: Have to wait one hour !

The problem is obviously with the Thermaltake PSU.

I'm thinking either it's not turning on at the same time as the primary PSU, or it isn't feeding stable, clean voltages to the graphics card. Either calls for a return to the manufacturer.

Now on to getting your video working. What you want is enough power going to your video card. Try connecting the card to your primary PSU instead of the Thermaltake one. 630W might be enough depending on how reliable the brand is, as they often lie.

If it doesn't work, getting a more powerful primary power supply will fix the problem. Go for 750W+to be safe.

Newly installed, first boot up PSU problem

If it's a new PSU, then return it for a replacement...Even online distributors will replace faulty units. And since your old PSU works on it, I'd have to say it's the new PSU that's faulty. Did you make sure that it's the right PSU for the CPU that you have? (As there are PSU units for AMD and seperate ones for Intel...Intel just has a additional power cord to connect to the motherboard)
