If you are using an extension cord that does not have the right polarity (one fat prong), or if the outlet is wired backwards, it may cause that problem.

If the cord has no fat prong, try it both ways, or try a cord with one. If the cord already has one and is unaltered, try in another outlet (not the other one right next to it, but somewhere else in the room or another room).

If that doesn't do it then maybe someone 'fixed' it. If that's the case, you'll need to 'unfix'. Let me know.

Only a small amount of air is comimg through so therefore the disc is not floating

If this is an old table, the holes may just be plugged with dirt, get a small wire and poke each hole open. Otherwise check the blower motor, see if it is running fast. clean or replace blower fan.

What are different types of air hockey tables?

There are two main types of air hockey tables: recreational (basic) tables and tournament (high-level) tables. Recreational tables come in different s, prices, and obviously, quality. Tournament tables on the other hand are 8 foot long and have the highest quality possible. What are the rules in official air hockey games?

In official air hockey games, there are basic USAA rules that the players need to play by: Players can stand anywhere around their side of the air hockey table (center), but cannot go to the sides. Players cannot touch the puck (palming). If any part of their body or clothes touches the puck, a "palming foul" is called. Players can hit the puck with every part of the mallet, besides the bottom part. There should be only one puck during gameplay. A player can use only one air hockey mallet. A player cannot place the mallet on the puck in order to slow it or stop it (topping). When the puck is on the center line, both players can strike it. Once the puck is in the player's side of the centerline, he/she has 7 seconds to strike it back. Is it dangerous to play Air Hockey?

For your own safety, keep your not playing hand off the table away from the edge of the table. I have seen lots of beginners place their fingers over the edge of the table only to have a puck come smash into their fingers at 25 MPH and cause unpleasant injuries damage, so be careful with that but in general Air Hockey is considered to be a safe sport.

Which Air Hockey table should I buy?

If you want an approved for USAA tournaments then you can check out any of the 8 foot long Dynamo Air Hockey table, just stay away from the "Hot Flash" series.

In the "Hot Flash" Air Hockey tables the painted rails make the puck fly off a lot, and fluorescent table-top makes it hard to see the puck.

A new Dynamo table price varies from $1500 to 2500$ so you should take it into consideration.

Air flow hockey table

We made a fixture that allows us to clean the table top. We took a piece of wood larger than the fan opening, drilled a hole in it, and installed an air fitting for use with our home air compressor. WIth the fans removed, we run the compressor and hold the fixture against the bottom of the table. That forces all that air to exit out the table surface. To concentrate the flow over problem areas we cover sections of the table during the process. Also, you may need new pucks too if they are old and worn.

Harvard air hockey scoing system

The controller is poorly designed and likely burned out. I am assuming you bought your's used. If it were new, you would see that each segment of the LEDs would burn out over time and stop displaying. I am rebuilding mine - I bought a microcontroller and and writing the programing from scratch. I have identified all of the pins on the controller and it will plug into all the cables on the bottom of the table. should have it done by New Years. Let me know, if it sounds like your problem. I can build an extra one - I'll check back here to see if you are interested.
