SOURCE: Faint Vertical lines on Samsung LCD TV

Your correct, LCD's don't burn. This sounds like a defective main control module. I would take it in as soon as possible to have it looked at.

If the band is there constantly and looking the same then the defect is in the LCD panel itself - the tv is gone.

How do I fix my LCD TV that shuts off about 10 minutes after turning on?

Hi Mr. Joe,
It is not the power supply, it is the main board which is causing trouble. I had to replace the main board in a Samsung LA32C480 for the same fault some time back. The main board stops working ie gets 'HANGED' after some time.

Faint black lines going from top to bottom when tv is on for about the first 15 min

If I'm understanding this correctly, you have a faint line, horizontally on the screen that moves vertically right? if so, It's AC noise. If you are mechanically inclined, the quickest fix is to replace your current AC outlet with a GFI outlet. Works 99% of the time. Hope this helps.
