Re: DAV-SC6 NO Sound from DVD
Hi, You have to read user manual first because it seems that due to setting changes. First you will find "TEST TONE" in the user manual try it.Secondly if the problem persists you have to put it on factory setting which would also mentioned in the user manual.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

how are you conecting the tv to dvd surround
phono plugs or scart /ero plug? best results are to conect from tv audio out to input on surround i have an older sony and it wont work though the start lead DONT FORGET TO SELECT SOURCE
Hi, First try with yellow video output of DAV-S500 in yellow video TV input to get its picture. (yellow output means composite video out) Green-Blue-Red video output is component output that will be turn on when you switch the unit into Progressive picture mode, that option would be available in Menu of DAV-S500 Hope this info will help you. Thanks.
If you select component in on the tv, this should give you a picture, using the current set up. As for audio, depending on the tv, have you used audio in on the tv, or audio out? It sound obvious but I (even after 5 years+ of installing tv/vcr/dvd) still get caught out with input and out put. I am unfamiliar with Sansui dvd, if it has a scart connection on the back then yes you can connect to a spare scart on the tv. If it has the single yellow phono for video and the red/white phonos for sound, you can buy a scart to phono lead and use that, not to confuse with the component(blue/green/purple) connections. You cuold also connect the yellow/red/white phono to the same on the tv front/side or rear if available.
i have the same dav dz260 and all my stuff works on mine. this is how i set it up i have conected y dz to the tv via scart and my sky and ps3 via hdmi cable. to get sound from sky and ps3 i conected a optical cable from the dz260 to the tv and when i want sound for sky or ps3 all i did was change the function on the dz260 to tv and the tv setting to the hdmi im using and hey presto sound hope it helps
That should give you the connection options. The short answer, though, is to connect the best audio out from DirecTV to an audio in on the surround sound and then choose that option in the surround sound system when you want to watch TV.
Had same problem with my HDMI connection on my sony bravia and sony theatre system, resolved by conecting a scart lead from the theatre system to one of the free scart sockets on the back of the TV, leave your HDMI connection in place as the DVD signal comes from this,
Have you tried to hook up your DVD player directly to the surround sound system? If you direct the sound through the TV, it has to pass several circuits and the quality will be lover. Just connect it right away to your sound system. :-)
In case you connect the System to a TV set using the Scart Connector, only the video signal is terminated, Audio is actually not wired inside the SB100 Scart connector.
Sound will only be amplified through the system itself (through the satelites and Sub) it can not be utilized as a stand-alone DVD player.
So after connecting your surround speakers the problem will be solved
