Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

Internet Explorer Popups

G'day mate, it's me again.
I downloaded a game from limewire, which was a stupid idea. And somehow a virus got past my Avast Anti-Virus. And now I have constant popups from Internet explorer, which I dont even use.
I watched some anti-popup videos, and mucked around with my internet explorer settings, and now it doesn't let popups past, but it gives me a different popup, telling me I can't view the popup. Which is pointless, replacing a popup with a different popup.
Anyway my question is, do you know a way to get rid of internet explorer popups?

    I already have adaware, and I did a scan, and found 200 infected files, I deleted them all.

    And the popups are still here..

    But they've seemed to change from IE to Mozilla..

    I dont use either but it's still pretty ******* annoying..

    I will do that when I have the time, but I have a NEW problem.

    Now, for some reason, I'm constantly getting a message that says "Server Busy - This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'Switch To' To acivate the busy program and correct the problem."

    It's so annoying.. Ugh..

    My computer was perfect, then I try and download a game and it's IMPOSSIBLE. UGH.

    Well i'm not sure what's what.

    But I can write them all down for you, and maybe you can tell.

    Dslstat - C\Program Files\D-Lin (I think it's for my internet)
    Dslagent - C:\Program Files\D-Lin (Internet probably, once again)
    jusched - C:\Program Files\Jav (I think for Java, maybe runescape, which I have open atm)

    You know what, this is taking too long, how about I take a screenie, then upload it on imageshack, then link you?

    Ok here is the link to my TinyPic Account, it has three pictures uploaded, You can get the pictures and put a dash next to the ones that you think I should untick. I have already unticked some but I don't trust my own judgement, or you can say something like "Untick the third, 17th and 23rd"

    Cheers for the help.

    Ok I did that, it seems they are turning themself back on. Only some of them though, like the "ctfcakuswgkhiazku" one.

    What do you think ppcb_32 C:/PROGRA~1/PPCBO is?

I didn't have the time to do all of that, so I let it go for abit, and then I got a "Dont send" error report from GetModule26, and then the popups stopped, so I went to msconfig->Startup, and switched it off (It was one of the ones that turned itself back on) And now my computer is running fine :)

    Hi again,

    Pls uninstall Mozilla using the Add/Remove in the Control Panel. Additionally:
    run Ad-Aware again (a couple of times);
    do a Disk Cleanup particularly of your temp, temporary internet and cookies;
    reboot into Safe Mode

    I can just imagine.....

    It would seem that some program is running that you are unaware of and is causing the errors.

    A temporary/shortcut to avoid program running in the background (unknown to you) and release some memory is to go to Start, Run, type "msconfig" less the quotes, click on the Startup tab and un-check any reference to the game or any program that you are unsure of or you think are unnecessary. You could always check them back if otherwise.

    got the 3 images. If you have an MSI video card, then the two below are safe. If you dont use an MSI video card but instead an nVidia, then pls uncheck:

    • sw20; and

    • sw24
    Additionally, pls try uncheck:

    • winsys2;

    • rlwnw64l;

    • ctfcakuswgkhiazku;

    • VnrPack20;

    • GetPack23;

    • GetModule26;

    • DW_Start (rwwnw64d.exe).

    will await your update.

    If they are coming back, then their parents are still somewhere and what we are seeing are just the offsprings.

    I am not familiar with PPCBO, either it is a PC Pitstop program or part of a Linux Boot program. If you have not used any of the two, then it would be best to likewise uncheck.

    • write down the programs that re-install themselves;

    • do the uncheck again;

    • reboot in Safe Mode;

    • see if you need to do the uncheck again;

    • clear all temp, temporary internet, cookies in all Local Settings;

    • open "regedit" (same procedure as msconfig);

    • "Search & Destroy" (find and delete) all instances of all the uncheck as you have written down;

    • run Ad-Aware;

    • see if your antivirus will also run in Safe Mode;

    • do again a disk cleanup.
    If for some reason problem still persists, pls take a screen shot of all your Processes inside the Task Manager, both in Safe & Normal Mode.
