Question about Exercise & Fitness
When the treadmill is turned on, the console come on, the lights come on and that's it apart from the constant beeping sound. Non of the buttons respond when you press them. The technician said to open up the back of the console, unplug two plugs which he had sent us a picture of of which ones and to close it all back up and turn it on again to see if the beeping stopped. This hasn't done anything, still beeping and the machine still unresponsive. Can anyone suggest anything?
Please adjust the Reed switch, see the diagram below 1/8-1/4" 2) Tight very well the ribbon cable from key panel 3) Tigh the connector from display board vs the lower board(main motor board).4)main motor board.can be faulty. 5) However RUN your software utility for easy diagnose and troubleshooting. see the block diagram attached.
sincerely. God bless you.

Sound like function pad or upper console I don't know if you can purchase the function pad, but you may have to purchase the entire console and that may quite expensive.

It could be any point where the platform mounts to the frame. there are plastic covers on the front corners of the platform remove them and look for loose screws. Also the squeak could be the belt rubbing on something underneath. Another squeak that can happen sounds more like a zip and that can happen when the front tip of your shoe rubs the surface of the belt when you are return your foot forward, this may sound crazy but an easy way to tell if that is happening it to walk with just socks on.If you don't hear that noise then you can assume it is your shoe dragging. .

You have 1,2 or maybe 3 problems. 1st is you need to remove the cover over the motor. The belt that the motor turns may be slipping. You need to loosen the bolt that keeps the tension on the drive belt. Push down to tighten manually and then tighten bolt. While your in there you should check the drive belt for wear. If you have used the treadmill a lot it may need replacement. $20 from readmilldocter.com The walking belt if badly worn can be replaced for like $99 but probably is fine. put all back together and tighten tension. Should be able to lift walking belt 3 to 4 inches from center sides. Any less and its too tight. Its probably better to just replace the drive belt anyway. This should work. Do not over tighten ever. This is the cause of most problems.

Tunturi.com or accellfitnessna.com should have the lubricant you need. Order it online and they should be able to ship it directly to your house. I service tunturi treadmills, although I haven't come across a teflon lubricated machine, it is very important with these machines you stick with the manufacturer specified lubricants.

SOURCE: The belt of my treadmill
you either have a loose belt or possibly a bad bearing.
grab each roller (front and back of treadmill) and try and shake it up and down and front to back to
to make sure the bearings are ok...if they move a lot, then you probably have a bad bearing...if theres no movement, or very litte, they should be ok
now make sure the belts ok by looking at it and determining if one side is looser then the other (the right side should appear or feel looser) then tighten the right adjusting bolt till the belt tracks in the center. the adjuster is at the rear, one on each side of the rear roller.
HERE is a video and instructions of how to track your belt.
its pretty easy to fix and should only take a few minutes to get it right with a little trial an error if you never did it before.
let me know if you need further help.

Ensure that the treadmill is plugged into a grounded outlet using the correct surge suppressor. Use a UL 1449 suppressor listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS). It must be rated for 15 amps and 120 volts AC. Secure the services of an electrician if the outlet is not grounded, or move the Proform treadmill near a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
Insert the safety key fully into the display. Treadmills with keys are designed not to turn on without the safety key in place.
Find the circuit breaker on the front of the frame and make sure it is not tripped. The circuit breaker is a vertical switch on the 540S and a horizontal switch on the 540 Interactive Trainer. Press it to the "Reset" position, which will be labeled.
2. Reed Switch
Unplug the treadmill and remove the safety key.
Move the upright base of the treadmill down with the help of another person and lift the uprights so that you can get to the underside of the console. Use a Phillips screwdriver with at least a 5-inch shaft to remove the screws. There are five hood screws on the 540 Interactive trainer and four screws on the 540S.
Remove the motor hood to get to the small reed switch by pivoting the hood off the frame. Find the reed switch and magnet, which are on the left side of the pulley for both models.
Turn the pulley with your hand until the reed switch aligns with the magnet. There should be 1/8-inch gap between the two. Fix the distance so that it is 1/8 inch by loosening the reed switch screw and sliding it to the correct distance. Tighten the screw.
Reverse the directions to put the hood back on and the treadmill upright in the original position.

When in Demo Mode, the console will go through a repeating lighting pattern. This
mode will only become active when the treadmill is plugged in, the main on/off switch
is turned on, and the safety key is not inserted into the console.
The Demo Mode was added to attract attention to the treadmill while it is on display. By
default, all treadmills with Demo Mode will come with it turned on. Demo Mode can be
turned off at any time.
Method #1 to switch from the Demo Mode:Press and hold the STOP button while inserting the safety key to enter the user
Look in the Calories window. When Demo Mode is active, the letter 'd' will
Press the SPEED DOWN button to toggle the mode on and off.
Once the mode is set as desired, remove the safety key.
