Philips 42PFL3704D/F7 TV caught in power surge

Replacement fuse is blown immediately. Nothing else seems blown or visibly shorted. I would like a DIY fix. Is it as simple as replacing one of the circuit borads?

All those TVs seem so have similar problems with the same solution. Resistors are too low a voltage. Check for bulging on them, replace with 25-3035 volt ones. Solder in place. Check on other boards for details, one has a Youtube video showing solution

not an expert on this but be careful of power boards as the source voltage rating. If you purchased say an USA it would be 120V and if your power is 240 V then power board replacement will blow up.

Check and replace its main power regulator board. Being a Philips brand, you must replace any part of it with its genuine one, or, loss of money and time will be the result. To get some details, Pull up older posts.

Philips 42pfl3704d/f7 No power at all

its definitely the fuse. you have to go to the phillips website and type in your model number to get the right fuse. I went thru 3 different fuses and they all blew right away. phillips website sells the right ones 5 bucks each. Get it here and it will save you trouble trust me.

If nothing happens no light or sound when you plug it in to the wall it is definitely the fuse. mine was a T8AH250VP. You have to be sure to get that exact fuse. every letter exactly like that. there are a lot of similar fuses that will blow the moment u plug it in.

Hope this helps took me a month to figure this out. I was going to buy powerbaords for no reason. fixed my 42 inch phillips for under 10 dollars. couldn't be happier. Also always run your tv threw a power ack. If you plug directly to the wall your fuse will blow frequently.

42pfl3704d no power

The power supply regulator board to your tV should be suspected. It has an overload fuse [ a glass cartridge type] fitted on it. Check this fuse first, after opening the Tv. If found opend, be sure that the power board has some kind of short with its components.
It is best to get this board replace as card basis, rather than making 'surgery' to it, as the components with it will be very difficult find in open electronic spare part market. You can buy this baord form the atuthrised service center for Philips at your town.
