Question about Sony VAIO VPCEE31FX Notebook

Sony VAIO VPCEE31FX power issue?

Laptop runs for awhile and then suddenly dies. Power light remains lit but computer just dies then it won't restart until it sits for a day or two. Sometimes it restarts after an hour or two, other times it takes a couple of days before it will restart. Happens whether running on fully charged battery or plugged in. Laptop is just over a year old (3 weeks after warranty runs out!) and has never been dropped or abused. Tripped over the power cord once which just pulled the cord out, but it didn't seem to hurt anything. Its been suggested that it might be a motherboard issue but I want to know if anyone else has had this issue with theirs and if there's a known solution. Thanks!

Added note: I installed a new hard drive but the problem remained. Not a HD issue...

Sounds like a dead battery or power supply or both...check for a light on the power supply to prove it's connected.

Screen won't turn on...think I need new it worth it?

Try booting into "safe mode" before you do any repairs on it.

Start your computer and hit F8 every second until the boot menu comes up. When it does select "Start in safe mode". If it starts up and you can see your desktop (it might look a little bloated), then you just need to update your video card driver because it somehow got corrupted.

Have my sony vaio VPCEE31FX got bluetooth?

Looking over every specification page I could find. The answer is no, this laptop does not have bluetooth. However, you can purchase a USB bluetooth adapter and it will work fine. These adapters are available at most electronic stores or on line.

Hope this helps

My sony vaio will not turn on

Either the power supply is bad (has died) or the power unit in your laptop is bad. Try another power supply if possible. If not you'll need to open up your computer and replace the power supply unit.

How do i turn on the camera of my sony vaio vpcee31fx

There is no specific button to turn ON the camera in VAIO computers. Start the computer, search for the application ArcSoft Web Companion 3, the camera will start functioning. You can also use the camera with other video conferencing applications. Remember, the camera will only work with any one application at a time.

Turning off

Perform power drain ( remove all accesories including the battery and the power adapter) press the power button for 1 minute.

Connect the power adapter only then turn on the computer - try using for more than 1 hour. If the computer does not shut down then the issue is the battery.

Run anti virus software.

If problem still persist it is a posible hardware issue. If you are still in warranty you can call sony and they can help you fix the issue for free.
