Question about Sanyo DS27800 27" TV
I purchased a Sanyo 27 inch TV - Model # DS27800 in 2001.
My problem with it now is… the screen has horizontal lines that flicker, then the picture goes black on the top & bottom with a bright multi colored line in the middle that throws of horizontal lines that flicker (it seems like the TV is trying to fill the screen). The sound is fine and everything else seems to be fine. Is there a fix/solution for this problem?
You have a failure in the vertical deflection circuit. This could be either a bad vertical chip, the power supply that runs the chip or a bad capacitor in that circuit. This is usually a repair best left to a professional. There is a small possibility that it could be bad solder connections. If genlty tapping the unit temporarily solves the issue you can try and resolder the pins on the vertical chip LA7841 is the part number. There is also a resistor 1 ohm 1 watt. If that resistor is open you can assume the IC is bad
