The relay may be damaged or severely pitted. The connector may be damaged or it's PC traces may be damaged.

Also check the remote speaker plug- spray it with some contact cleaner from inside to reach the interrupt contacts and plug and unplug a jack into the socket a number of times to clean that contact.

Given the fact that when you key up the mic you should not hear any thing because the receiver section is "turned off" (no antenna and the speaker is muted). This would seem to indicate that the switch the headset controls which allow the change over from RX to Tx is bad or that the circuit in the CB unit which the head set plugs into is having a problem. Do you hear the same flutter without the headset? Try to get another headset or test one out just to see if the problem is eliminated by using a known good headset.

SOURCE: look for schematics for a midland cb

daniel, first off, I need a complete model number for the radio info. Midland only made about 40-50 different models over the years. The header calls for a 75-822 and you are asking for a ** 833. The beginning should be a 13 or 75,76,77,78. Let me know the # and i'll be able to get you the proper pinout.
Thanks,,, Mechanic

amps like the smaller wattage so they can push out more power but some amps like the 3 watt figure so they can push out more power. go to www.cbtricks.com and look up your radio. the schematic is there but I don't remember if there is a service manual for it.

Brand new Midland 5001z blows fuses immediately after its turned on. I tried the power cord on Cobra 25 that has the identical plug configuration and its Ok. I don't have the receipt as I got it a

bad final also check for any burned resistors in the area. If the final caused the resistor to burn the just replacing the resistor it would burn the new one also.

I have a 5001z it quit receiving I can turn the squelch all the way off and I dont get any noise at all not sure if its sending since it dont receive

You could have a broken RX wire in the mic cord, or the wire to the jack is broke.

Try another mic. make sure it is wired for midland. Also make sure the RF gain is all the way up. There is really no reason to have it lower then full, unless you want less receive.

Hi i have a midland 98 plus,i have been told that when i talk it have very low volume and people have to turn their set up to full volume to hear me. but the same mic on a different set works fine

Look at Radio Mods or Defcom mods. To clip modulation diode inside radio. Take to Cb shop to Peak&Tune. It may be wound to high in carrier but not audio. Buy you a "Power Mic" at Radio Shack or WWW.COPPERELECTRONICS.COM.
