I got a unit to repair witch was striped by someone els. There is a plate with part no 276897 that must go on the intake.Dous it fit to the carburato or to the cylinder head.

it will fit between the carby and the head
mostly is made of bakelite and is a device to stop the temperature of the head from transferring into the carby and boiling off the fuel
there should be a gasket either side of it

Fuel bulb doesn,t fill up with gas.stays flat

check for a blockage to the carby or a blockage in the carby
it will not return because there is a vacuum occurring in the system that normally would be filled with the drawing up of fuel

Power mate rear tiller cranks but want stay running

it is indicated that the main jet in the carby is blocked or there is water in the fuel
Check that the filter in the tank or line is not blocked first.

My tiller needs belts, and I don't know how they

Assuming you have not already removed them make yourself a detailed sketch of how the belts are routed (your owner's manual should also show how how they go back on). Remove any guards or retainers (that keeps the belts from jumping off the pulleys) and put the new belts on just like the old ones. Reinstall any guards or retainers you removed. I know this may look complicated but if you take your time and figure out which belt does what it is not all that difficult. Hope this helps.

I have a Troy Bilt Bronco 5.5 hp that will start and run about 5 mins then cut off the it will restart for like 2 seconds. It's got new plug and clean gas, it's also only about 3 yrs old. Any ideas

Sounds like fuel starvation

Check / remove carby / strip down / check for blocked jets for contamination.

Check spark is present.

Is correct heat range

Briggs and stratton platinum 5.5 hp ohv i/c engine

The carby probably has a block either in the idle, jet or float valve. These are both internal to the carby. To fix this, you will need to pull the carby off the engine and get it serviced by a tradesman. If you feel keen, split the carby apart, then run a very small drill bit (.38-.7mm) through the Jets by hand. Also spray carby cleaner in there and blow out with air blower.

Racing high and low throttle

This erratic idling on my machine usually settles once I put it to work. With a load the engine finds it's air/fuel balance and should work better. hope this helps.
