Open Question

I use aficio 3224c and i keep getting paper misfeed. the paper gets stuck at the next level where it is supposed to be pcickedp soon as it is released from the tray.

Both paper trays releases the paper alright but the paper jams at the next section where it is supposed to be picked up to be printed.

SOURCE: Doesn't Print - Says "Paper Jam"

That is the problem, machine will show printer jam if paper feed rollers fail to pick up paper when requested, your machine sounds like it needs new paper feed roller or you can clean the paper feed roller with a slightly! damp cloth.

If no jam light shows when power is turn on and machine comes to ready and then you send a job to printer and it then shows jam then it is the feed roller or sometimes the feed clutch

If on the other hand it always show jam then there is or a switch is stuck.

SOURCE: Error code 024-964

theres definately still something wrong with the size or the types of paper in your trays, because thats where the error codes are pointing. Make sure that the slidable paper guides are in exact position for the size of the paper and make sure that the size paper is acceptable with this model. You may also want to make sure the correct type of paper is set for each tray as well. here's the referance for this opinion... click here

SOURCE: Printer won't pick up the paper in the tray to

The pick up rollers sometimes get "glazed over" with residue from cheap label sheets, dust, etc. also after years of use, they get smooth. Clean the pick up rollers. Make sure that all adjustments, including paper type (thick, thin, card stock, etc.) are properly set both in the printer utilities program and mechanically, if available. Will it feed if light pressure is applied to the opposite edge from the feed edge of the paper? Might try rejuvenating the pick-up rollers (and cleans them at the same time) with alcohol on a lab swab (longer with cotton on one end only) available at almost any pharmacy - just have to ask for them. The alcohol will clean the rollers and also slightly soften them so that they have enough friction surface to grab the paper again. Most printers feed from a vertical paper position so that gravity helps feed the paper into the pick-up rollers. HP almost always feed from a horizontal tray in the front of the printer. Clean rollers are a MUST.

SOURCE: Where are papertray release taps located

For the upper paper lip, just lift it up (rotate upwards), and pull towards you to remove.

As for the lower paper tray, remove the cover (it should come off easily), and use a flat screwdriver to pry the two round light-grey colored tab on the inside inboard to release the drawer. It takes some fiddling around to get it loose, but it does come loose... Just be careful since those tabs are very brittle and can snap easily.

Best bet is to use the original box for safe transportation, that way you won't need to remove the tray...

I have tried to clear the misfeed B for weeks now. There is no paper jamed and I have checked all the rollers and there is nothing stuck. Can you advise me what to try now.

If you do not have any paper in the machine and still have a message of paper jam probably you have a faulty switch door.
Check if any switch door are not properly closed.

Ricoh Aficio CL3500N printer phantom misfeed

It seems that the sensor is having dust or toner settled upon it. Kindly remove the toner and clean the residual toner. Take a hard stock paper and give one copy command and push it while it tries to pull the paper. Paper misfeed is not the same as paper jam. Paper misfeed refers to the blank paper tray and paper jam refers to paper which has been taken from the tray and now inside the unit.

You need to consult your manual for all the paper paths that you may have missed.

Check all paths and go out and buy paper path cleaner, follow the instructions on the package and completely clean out the paper paths.

This should loosen or remove the stuck paper and get the printer printing again.

Please write back results (good or bad)

I have a aficio 200 and it is showing a fault misfeed at a and i have removed the paper but it seems to be stuck at that point

If after clearing the jam; the machine warms up, trys to feed again, and jams. There is something causing it to jam. This could be a feed roller, clutch, or sensor. If the jam never clears; you likely have a small chunk of paper sitting on a sensor, or a faulty sensor. Get a flashlight and take a good look into the "a" section, its a tight area but also short, so finding the paper shouldn't be too hard if there is some in there. Getting it out may require a long screw driver or canned air.

The machine gives a false error message.''misfeed A :internal path

Pull out paper cassett and look for paper in the feed section. Fold a sheet of paper in half and using the blue lever inside right side door feed paper between feed rollers. Make sure you do the whole width of feed section. There might be a small piece stuck you can't see.

Paper a misfeed

not sure if you are talking about two papers jammed in different locations or at different times?

first thing would be to clean the tires that pick up the paper, if too smooth then replace. sounds like a timing issue.paper getting stuck halfway in the fuser c(if no other paper jammed) can be Seperation is off causing the paper to rise onto the drum creating a time lapse, paper tansport belt (in the machine after the drum) is not turning ok, or as simple as wrong size paper Letter in machine but says Legal 8 1/2 x 14
