Averatec 2300 memory access

I want to upgrade the memory and cannot find any instructions on how to access the memory. I think that it is under the keyboard.  How do I remove the keyboard?

thank you for the recommendation.  I have considerable experience.  With a service guide I could make a considered decision whether it is too difficult to attempt myself.  A service guide is still on the radar.

I most definitley do not recommend you do any work to laptop especially removal of the keyboard, This is critical and can mess up your computer. I would recommend that you take it to a local Best Buy store to a Geek Squad Agent to help and usually they charge like $40-$50.00 dollars for something small like that, which is not bad if you compare I TAKE THE KEYBOARD OUT MYSELF (and risk or break something in the computer that causes it to crash V.S. taking it to a authorized agent and having them liable to fix it (AND IF THEY MESS UP THE LAPTOP, THEY'RE RESPONSIBLE, which means you get a new laptop ;-) ) Take my advice wisely, I have had 20 computers, I have tried things myself and have had my share....I am not underestimating you, It's just no one should do that by themselves they should take it to a professional.

Yeah, If you want to take the risk of messing something up and being reliable you can go that way. Or you can pay a cheap fee and make someone else reliable for anything getting messed up. I mean that's how I would do it. But I do apologize that I could not assist with this.

Please provide instructions on how to install 512mb of memory on my averatec 3150h laptop computer. Year of laptop 1997. This is a upgrade to existing memory

Turn the computer off.
Unplug the AC adapter.
Remove the battery.
Flip the computer upside-down.
Look at the various "bay" covers.
Under one of them will be a slot for RAM.
Take a screwdriver, and remove the cover.
You might either find existing RAM (one stick or two),
or you might find an empty slot.

Now, the difficult part is purchasing RAM that will be compatible with your "antique" (1997) laptop. I highly advise that you take the computer, the battery, and the power-supply to a computer-store, so that they can sell you "compatible" memory -- the "wrong" memory won't fit, or won't work, or will only add 1/4 or 1/2 the amount of RAM present on the stick.

Sounds like the memory stick isn't compatable/wrong voltage or is faulty.A bios upgrade you can get at the Averatec website support but its unlikely it will help though.

How to get inside Averatec D1002UHCE-1 All-In-One to upgrade memory? Thanks, JOE

remove the 4 screws from the stand, remove the 5 screws from the back, remove the 3 screws from the bottom. The back will now lift off. There are 7 screws around a silver aluminum cover on the inside. Remove them and lift the cover off and you will see the ram. Also, not where the wires run under the aluminum piece so as to not kink or cut them when reassembling.

FYI, same instructions apply for upgrading the CPU, GPU, and Hard drive ( although the aluminum piece doesn't have to come off to change out the Hard drive). I have put a 1.5 Tb drive in with an Intel E7400 C2D cpu and 4 Gb ram. My next upgrade will be to an ATI HD 3650 MXM type II gpu. (actually already ordered one but it arrived damaged).

First shut down your unused (TSR )terminte and stay resident programs, to free up memory, the get a laptop cooler ,under the unit, and you may want to think of upgrading the memory on it. I have one and it tends to run hot. Sounds also like the internal thernistor is shutting it down because of Heat

How to upgrade RAM in Averatec 1000?

you need to remove the base. if you can use a screwdriver and are careful you can do the lot.
also to make it easier, before u start dissassembly pop the cd drive and undo the 2 screws attaching the silver plastic cover to the drive.

then take the battery out. be careful when you remove the screws for the screen as when u have the case apart the screen brackets tend to get in the way. the speaker grill comes off in one single part.

you will void any warranty left too!

any questions email me at stug45@gmail.com
also if you have any upto date drivers that you've got somehow can you email me!
im looking for upto date vga, mouse and network.
windows update doesnt have it and i cant read korean to get onto the averatec site. the other site i found was a really didge site. :(

Hi

Looking on the Kingston website (trusted) I can see that the 3715 is initially configured with 512 but is upgradable to 2Gb

http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/modelsinfo.asp?id=3&SysID=27609&mfr=Averatec&model=3700+Series+3715&root=&LinkBack=&Sys=27609-Averatec-3700+Series+3715&distributor=0&submit1=Search

Ther is a large panel on the underside of the 3700 and I would expect to find the mem slots there, however they may be located as you suggested under the keyboard.

MEMORY UPGRADE ON ACER TRAVELMATE 5720G

Acer's support isn't the best. IMHO But go to their support site anyway and look up your laptops manual (there should be instructions on upgrading your RAM there). I did find that your machine will accept up to 4GB of RAM 2 X 2GB sticks. There should be a door or port (for easy user RAM upgrading) that is being overlooked, but again it is an Acer.
Good luck.

Memory

To get at some parts takes some doing, but the AVERATEC 4200 AV4265-EH1 is user upgradable. The 80GB hard drive and one of the 256MB memory slots sit under a large bottom panel held in place by seven small screws. Removing two additional screws frees the hard drive. To reach the second RAM slot, you have to loosen one additional screw (labeled "D" in the manual but not on the notebook) inside the bottom compartment, pop out keyboard's four top latches, and lift it off. The RAM slot, the only exposed component beneath the keyboard, is easy to find. Another 256mb run both will surfice.
