Question about Baby Gear
This isn't easy or cut and dry so bear with this. The method is hunt and peck to say the least. Those of us who have a lot of tips up have only found a method in the madness.
Go to the Home Page and select or enter the product of which ir resides in a product family depending on whether your solution applies to all printers or a maker of printers or a model series of printers. Lets say Epson.
Go to the E's, navigate through them alphabetically until you see Epson, click on that. You are presented with a subSet of Epson Printers. If your tip is for all Epsons you can pick anyone on the list, do that for practice purposes. Scroll down and see if there is a tip in there or not, because you will see a link titled something like Write a New Tip or Submit a New Tip. Often when you pick a model to do this there is no link for a tip. I've found that this is because no tip is written yet. Very counter intuitive and part of what I'm negotiating with FixYa to resolve for us experts.
When you do pick a printer and find a link to write a new tip you are presented with a drop down list selection that will have an entry, all Epson Printers or this model you are looking in currently. Sometimes you get lucky and there is an entry 'for all printer'. There is no rhyme or reason for this.
Run through that exercise, as clumsy as it sounds and is, until you get to the point where you have the selection drop down list.
Now, be ready to write your tip, thinking in terms of how you have to hunt for the right category to put it in. I wrote one for all blank CDs, that was hard to get a foot hold on, but I found a page finally with a previous tip.
How tips get written in a product family or product that has no tip I haven't figured out yet. I've examined the url structure to determine the variables and if I could enter an element of my own choosing as a variable in the url. I don't get it.
For a second opinion or more like a second and better take on this Buddy Mail (that's what the Ask Me feature is) Ekse.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
