How do I clear the user programs so I can create new ones?

The user programs are no longer the speeds I want. I changed the speed while running the program, which is what the owner manual says, but the program still goes back to the settings I programmed originally.

SOURCE: I have a Proform 545s treadmill with incline and

i have a proform 545s as well and it would light up when pluged in but you could not use the speed settings at all. i figured out how to fix it just by tinkering around with it. i removed the back cover on the programer up top and exposed the circiut board. there is are 2 ribbon like sets of wires that come from the speed controler. the plug into the circuit board with a whit clip. pop loose the white clip on both of there and you will see a series of prongs that come in contact with the ribbon. using a small flat head screwdriver you must bend these prongs in slightly to close the gap between the two. it took me a couple tries to bend them enough to make contact again. i tried it and to my surprise it works great. the fan still is not working but i am trying to trouble shoot that now. hope this helps you....

How do i change a speed dial number on my brother mfc-7340?

Changes to the contents stored in the address book do not become effective in the stored speed dial numbers in Windows®. Description:If you have made a change to the contents stored in the address book, the speed-dial is NOT automatically updated.

If you change the address book entry, please follow the steps below to store the speed dial number again.
  1. Click on the setup button to open the Brother PC-FAX Setup dialog box.

My laptop is hanging and slow when it comes to use the internet.should i reformat it?

before reformatting, follow these
Clean Windows Registry: The registry of the Windows contains immense information. It shall be cleaned all the time and it is the most effective way to boost computer speed in an easy way.
Defragment your PC to increase computer speed: Press Start button > then Programs > Click Accessories > Press System Tools > And Disk Defragmenter.
This feature will take some time but it will compact large data into smaller pieces creating a lot of free space for the computer to run faster. You can delete unnecessary files from your computer prior to performing disk defragmentation.
Add more RAM to Speed up your computer: If you are running a lot of programs and the capacity of your RAM is short. This will surely help you to make computer run faster with Windows 7 or Vista in seconds. Fortunately it does not take much time. Make it sure that you place it the right way.
Clear Cache, history and temporary internet files: Another way which I assume is a 'best way to speed up my computer' is to clear the cache, history and temporary internet files. Removing junk files frees up a lot of space required to make computers run faster.
Turn off unnecessary programs from start up: A lot of computer users complain that their Windows 7 or Vista does not boot faster. I would recommend to such people to have a shorter start up items list.
Have low intensity graphics If you are not an ardent gaming user then you can afford to run computer faster with low intensity graphics.
Uninstall unused software and programs: It is very common that people install a number of computer programs and then stop using them. These unused programs shall be removed to increase the computer speed.
The above guidelines were really helpful to speed up my computer. These are safe and do impact computer performance in a positive way.
Frustrated of the dead slow speed of your computer? Do you wish to speed up computer in seconds? Please remember to clean Windows registry with Intel Software Partner, RegInOut BY. After this scan you will feel how much faster is your computer running.

Super,super slow computer

Don't worry please just follow the easy steps and fix your problem
  • Use the defragmentation tool (defrag). A hard drive consists of hundreds of sectors which or broken up into clusters and then further into allocations. As a computer gets used the files that are accessed are sometimes not put back to the sector or allocation unit where they belong. The drive becomes “fragmented”. The defrag tool can be accessed by going to the start bar, to programs, accessories, system tools and defragmentation tool. It may take several hours to properly defrag a hard drive, but the resulting gain in speed will make this time well spent. Files will be more quickly accessed and all of the bad sectors on a disk will not contain any information on them. Hence, a user will not wait in vain for a file that is stuck on a bad part of the hard drive.
  • Use registry fix programs. The computer registry can be described as the database that contains all of the settings and options for 32 bit versions of Microsoft Windows (including Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, XP, and 2000.) It also contains all of the settings for the hardware, software, users, and preferences of the P.C. Whenever a user makes changes in the Control Panel settings, file associations, system policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected in the computers registry. Many times a registry error occurs and this causes files and data to be inaccessible. If there are numerous minor errors (which is usually the case) a registry fix program will get the data back in accessible sequence and a slow computer will be speeded up with this fix.
  • Adding more RAM (random access memory) to your system will almost always help speed up a slow computer and the act of multi-tasking will not bog down the computer as it would with a lower amount of RAM. RAM is hardware that needs to be physically added and tends to be somewhat costly. However if you plan on keeping your system for a while it is an excellent investment.
  • For faster browsing speed clear your Internet cache (temporary internet files) and delete your cookies. This causes the computer to gain speed on the Internet and the pop-ups from sites that you have been to will also be less frequent.
  • Remove unnecessary items from the start menu. To do this type “msconfig” in the “run” box and hit enter. Choose selective startup and uncheck all of the programs that you do not need to load every time you start your computer. This will make the computer start more quickly and efficiently. DO NOT uncheck items that you do not recognize. This could cause you computer to run improperly.
  • Use a browser with an integrated pop-up blocker (Firefox for example) to decrease the amount of pop-ups and increase browsing speed.
  • Constantly scan for viruses and Trojans. Trojans can be on a system for weeks even months unbeknownst to the user causing major slowdowns and file errors. Try using a specific Trojan scanner instead of the conventional virus all-purpose scanner. Many Trojans slip past the “big name” virus scanners and need to be sought out specifically to be removed.

Thanks......Have a great time.

Windows XP Users (NOT Vista users, see next step for XP/Vista users)
UPDATE: There has been a recent Automatic Update (MS08-001) released on January 8 2008 that addresses some network security concerns. The below has NOT been tested with the latest TCPIP.SYS (v5.0.2195.7147) file. Update:The patch has been tested with KB941644 (an automatic update) and works perfectly!
  1. Go to this site - http://www.lvllord.de/
  2. Click on Downloads.
  3. Right-click the link and click "Save Target As".
  4. Save it in your Desktop.
  5. Open the file and run the program located inside the archive, agreeing to the security warning.
  6. Some text should scroll by in a MS-DOS window, after it ends, type C.
  7. Enter 100 for the number of concurrent half-open connections and press Enter.
  8. Type Y and the file should be patched. Cancel any Windows XP warnings that should appear, it is part of Microsoft's way of ensuring its files are not tampered with (the utility tempers with them on purpose to change the limit).
Windows VISTA/XP Users
WARNING: The below is a relatively new patcher in the scene and has been reported working for many users. If it fails for some reason, please let us know in the Comments below! This patcher claims to work for both 32 and 64 bit Vista and XP versions.
  1. Go to this site - http://half-open.com/download_en.htm.
  2. Download the ZIP file in the link titled Download Half-open limit fix
