In addition to Markeds answer this is because teh LInksys wireless router does not have the capability to connect wirelessly to another router. Computers can connect to it but it in turn cannot cnonect to another device wirelessly unless you use a wireless bridge but that will slow teh connection down considerably

In order for you to make the linksys wireless router and the homeportal 1100 to work together they should be connected via CAT5/ethernet cable, you cannot connect them wirelessly...
