Hello,
It may be due to the angle unit used. You can have angles in degrees, in radians, and in grads. You should set the default angle unit to waht you problem calls for.
To set degree as default SHIFT MODE 3
To set radians as default SHIFT MODE 4
To set grads as default SHIFT MODE 5

The values of angles calculated by the inverse trigonometric functions are in the default unit that is set . This may be the source of the wrong answers that you get.

Hope it helps.

Testimonial: "thanks alot!! "

hello,
The calculator will calculate the derivative at a point. It will not give you the formula for the derivative, just the derivative at the point you choose.
Sorry, it can ONLY do NUMERICAL differentiations and integrations.

SOURCE: how do I calculate the

It seemed there is no Modulo function in fx-100MS. But Mod is just the remainder of a division operator.

So if you have A mod B = C, divide A by B, subract the remaining whole number, and multiply it by B to get C.

Example:

7 mod 4 = 3

In the Calculator:

7 / 4 = 1.75, then 1.75 - 1 = 0.75. Then 0.75 x 4 = 3

### How do we replace battery for a JF-100MS calculator?

I couldn't find the manual for your JF-100MS but I have a Casio FX series calculator that, like yours, is solar + battery backup. On the back of the calculator there should be a small door or coverplate with a tiny screw. If you remove the screw the cover should come off and you can then access the button cell battery for replacement.

### On the CASIO Fx-9860GII, how does one do time derivatives ( i.e. (dx/dt or dy/dt)) for use with parametric functions? I am attempting to find the arc length of a parametric function.

To calculate the arc length of a curve you need the derivatives as functions of a variable not the derivatives at one point. If I were you I would read the manual for more complete information. Maybe if you wrote a program that does that.

### Im not sure on how to caculate derivatives on the calculator, help would be appreciated

The syntax of the command is

where function is the expression you are differentiating
x is the value of variable x at which you are evaluating the derivative, and tol is the tolerance (the error) you are willing to tolerate in the result.

If you do not want to specify a tolerance just the last comma and tol.

To enter the command d/dx you use key sequence [SHIFT][Integral]
To enter the symbol x in the expression you press [ALPHA][ ) ]
To enter a comma you use [SHIFT] [ ) ]
To enter a power of 10 in the tolerance use [x10^X] key

Example : Calculate

The key sequence is as follows
[SHIFT] [Integral] 3 [ALPHA] [ ) ] [X^2] [-] 5 [ALPHA] [ ) ] +2 [SHIFT] [ ) ] 2 [SHIFT] [ ) ] 1 [x10^X] [(-)] 12 ) [=]

DO NOT confuse [SHIFT] [ ) ] which enters the comma and [ALPHA] [ ) ] which enters the variable X
