PLEXWRITER24/10/40A flashing light, stuck in pause I assume
For some time now, my 24/10/40A has had the light flashing, does not respond.
I tried Plex support and they basically said, buy a new one. It would seem to me there should be a "fix" but I have not found it as yet.
Throwing it out for advice if any is to be given.

About the opening up the tray there will always be a pause because it is still busy and you have to give it a bit of time it isn't instant. The skipping is either caused by vibration the cd or the laser being dirty, Take it to a shop and have it cleaned ,that should take care of it and have them check the button(open) for good function while you are at it.
The problem occurs mostly when your drive is dying. I had the same problem with my laptop writer recently after which it completely stopped writing discs. Contact your support. Sometimes they would ask you to remove the upper and lower filters of an entry in the registry which would sometimes resolve the problem.
Check whether your DVD's that makes the media player to stuck. If those disks are scrached,it makes the ROM difficult to get data from it and when stucks at one point the ROM goes on trying get that the data at that point even thought it's immpossible. This causes the player to Freeze.Need More help?
I an sorry to say but it appears ya drive has gone faulty :( I have seen this a number of times at the shop.. If ya have a stuck disk it can be gotten out by using a straightened paper clip and inserting it into the hole in the front of the drive, and by pushing it in the drive door will be opened.
try, go to my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down the list to cd/dvd drives, click on the '+' and right click on your listed drive and select uninstall.
restart the notebook and then the drive will be re installed with drivers automatically.
it may be a firmware or driver error.
I think the first problem started with a DRIVER problem. If you had corrected this at the onset then maybe you would not be experiencing this problem. I think what might be happening according to your information is the DVD is burining to your suggested encoding fadst then slow. Try starting again change the drivers rollback to the last one or find and updated driver. Then see if the problem is there. It might be stuffed the drive that is. Post some more info
