Rinnai Gas heaterFailure code comes up 53 which indicates sparker failure. Turn unit off and it works normally for a while. Error code says cal for service. What is normally involved in fixing this problem...

I would replace the cord between the ignition module and the control board. It is a ribbon style of harness and only costs a few dollars from Rinnai direct. It is something that can be done by a mechanical inclined person in about 20 minutes. Contact Rinnai parts (usa) at 800-621-9419. Give them your exact model number and ask them for the harness between the two mentioned components. Good luck!

I have a Rinnai 556F Heater and I set it to a specific Temperature and a temperature higher is always flashing. What is wrong?

The temp you are looking at may be an error code. 72 Room sensor, 68 Over heat, 76.80 Room sensor short, etc. What is the exact code??

How do you get Rinnai energy saver (263FA) out of function lock mode

When you say "Function Lock" I am not sure what you are looking at. If it the Child Lock feature, you should be able to turn the stove off and push the Child Lock button to turn it off. Some of the error codes on Rinnai's look like tempertures,i.e. 60, 68, 11. I am not sure about the 263's but they should be just like a 556F. If you have a owners manual you can find all the codes. The Rinnai web site can help you get a manual if you don't have one.

I rent and have a Rinnai Energy saver 556F. I have it at 64 and the light blinks for 68. I would like to know why. It is 56 out side now thank you

Shadow,

The 68 you see is an error code. It means you have had an over heat situation. You should be able to clean the filter and fan area and restart. Turn the heater off and on again, that should reset everything and you should be good.

Rinnai energysaver 556f manual

Here is a link to the 556FTR from Australia.
They are all pretty much the same. The US site has similar info. Just google Rinnai. Open the site, go to resources tab and click downloads. The manuals are easy to locate.

My tank says I have 32 gallons left but the heater won't work (rinnai 556f). It turns on for about 15 seconds and the light on the power button turns red and starts blinking. What does this mean?

If you hold down the economy button and the up and down arrow buttons for 5 seconds the unit will start an error code display. Get a helper and yell out the numbers when they start blinking. Post the error codes and we can help you

Rinnai 556F Not Exactly and "Energy Saver"...

Raise the thermistor. It is a black rubber probe located on the back of the heater close to the coldest spot in your home, the floor. Raise it a few inches. To do this you will need to unhook it from its holder and open the front of the heater to unravel the extra length of yellow wire.
