Try a hard reset first - unplug tv from power source and all cables for about 1 hour, reconnect everything and see..

    You may also want to check the Timer settings. Set it to 0 and see if this helps.

I cant make the freeview box work without the operating instructions

OK - please follow these instructions carefully to setup the Freeview box. If you get stuck at any point in the instructions - or anything I've said doesn't make sense or match what you can see - just post another message here and I'll deal with each problem as it arises.

1. Switch the TV and Freeview box to STANDBY. There should be a red light on the Freeview box;
2. Connect the aerial cable to the freeview box. Make sure you are connecting this to the correct socket. This should be labelled "RF IN", "IN" or "Aerial/Antenna". If you have connected to a socket marked "RF/TV OUT" or "TO TV" or something similar, it wont work;
3. Connect the SCART cable to Freeview box and the back of the TV;
4. Switch the TV on;
5. Switch the Freeview box on - you should get a green light on the front of the box;

Most TVs will automatically switch to the external input when a SCART device is switched on while the TV is already on. This is why you should switch the TV on first.

At this point you should be able to see the installation / setup screen for the Freeview box displayed on your TV. If you cannot see this:

A. Press the INPUT button once on your SAMSUNG remote control once. This is the button in the top-right corner of your remote control.
B. If you still cannot see the installation / setup screen, press the MENU or SETUP button on the remote control supplied with the Freeview box.

The instructions from this point forward will be different if you had to press the MENU / SETUP button on the Freeview remote before anything appeared on the TV screen. If this Freeview box has been used before the installation screen will not appear, but you will get at on-screen menu after pressing the MENU / SETUP button. If this happens, please let me know and I will provide alternative instructions for setup.

Assuming you have been able to access the installation screen, it should be easy enough to follow the instructions on screen from this point. Use the UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT arrow keys on the Freeview remote to highlight the relevant options and then press OK / SELECT to choose that option.

I don't want to make this too complicated by providing alternative instructions for every possible scenario. Please run through the instructions above and make sure you are getting an installation screen or "menu/list" displayed on the TV. If you need further instructions from there, I will provide them in another message.

Good luck - I'll await your reply.

Regards,
BElectric

My remote will not work and the tv menu is on the screen and goes through all the diffrent setting options automatically without stopping. TV buttons will not control the menu. Unable to make any setting...

1# First unplug tv,unhook ant.let set overnight.2# Reconect ant.Plug back in.turn tv on with button on tv.let tv run trew all its modes for 5 to 6 hrs.Don`t push any buttons!!!!! It has to reset everything.then try remote,when it starts to work,set new pin code.use your instruction book,to set all blocks to N,,Clear all favorite channels + erase channels in tv 's memory if there in there yet,takes a lot of time.it will keep resetting,remote won't work.let it run awhile. then push exit, hold 5 to 10 seconds remote will eventually come back,check your settings reset them, be sure menu is set to STOP, it may start running threw all its modes again,let run couple hrs, then push exit 5 to 10 seconds to get your remote back.keep trying this. when you think the tv is working right,turn it off for 10 seconds then back on. If it starts resetting, let it run an hr,then push exit again to get your remote back,it has to reset everything,keep trying, took me 3DAYS to get it right!!!!!!!!! the only thing I don't have working is the pic size button,Don't need that anyway. GOOD LUCK.

Tv ws-65511 volume stuck

Did you ever get this problem fixed? Ours just started doing the same thing. It worked fine the night before, but today it's doing what yours is doing. The remote stopped working for the TV. The remote still works for the cable box, but volume and anything related to TV function not. The screen flashes when we try to adjust volume or anything else, but resets to previous volume. TV not responding to any commands either on the front panel or remote.
Any ideas? Thanks, Patti

Tv has a mind of its own

Just had the TV repaired for the same issue. According to the shop it was a bad channel up/down switch. That impacted the other functions (menu not working, remote malfunction) because they're all intertwined. Only about a $75 fix here in the DC area, so maybe cheaper elsewhere.
