What system are you using it with, how do you have it connected, when you say the system does not work as a result, does it mean that the system does not power up, or no sound?

Check your cable that runs between the main unit and sub for bent pins. If they look fine there may be a short in the sub itself that is causing it to go in to shutdown.

Check the little prongs inside of the cord, they are very fragile and if they get pushed in wrong, bent and broken off - you would never see one on the floor. These should all be straight and be able to make contact. Hope this helps!

I have a Th-C50 home theater and lost my subwoofer system cord, can I use a regular s-cord to make that connection? or is it useless with out the cord?? Please help!

Hi,

Yes you can use any 2-core cable to carry the bass signal to the subwoofer. As the bass speaker cone is the largest cone in your speaker set I would recommend a good quality cable of decent gauge (thickness) to carry the bass signal.

You just need to make sure you have the right connectors for the amp and sub and make sure you connect positive to positive and negative to negative.

Hope this helps,

Chris

SUBWOOFER WON'T TURN ON

hello the most common reason for those subs not turning on is the din jack on the back of the sub where the 7 pin cable plugs in is worn --to confirm simply wiggle it while the dvd is on it will pop and possibly startle you but 9times out of 10 its just the jack

shut off audio system is performed to protect it from damage due to high current consumption or short circuit in speakers try to disconnect subwoofer first and check if it is ok. the problem in your subwoofer or its cord-change the cord and check if it is ok thats fine if not change subwoofer.do the previuos for all speaker one by one.
if all above failed you must contact service center for help.

Subwoofer not powering up

I could either be the sub or the main unit. The main unit actually sends a signal to the sub to turn it on so if that circuit is bad in the main unit the sub is never going to come on. I've also seen bad cables (You'd be amazed at how stubborn people can be when din connectors don't cooperate).
