Can't offer much help but popping in muffler would indicate unburned fuel is being pumped into exhaust manifold.

Hi Jim, I think I would go through the carburator paying close attention to the slide and diaphram, also replace intake seals. Good luck.

I have a 2003 heritage efi got gag and now it is poping through the intake a lower rpm when i rev it up it seems to go alright but pops when i try to take off

Hi Drbob6953, popping, coughing, spitting, or backfiring through the carburator or induction module can be caused by air getting sucked in combustion chamber do bad intake seals leaking. Leaking exhaust gaskets can also be suspect. Remove air cleaner and backing plate, while engine is idling spray WD-40 or Brake Kleen around intake manifold to head area, if RPM's increase you have an intake leak and seals need to be replaced, also spark plugs will be burning whiter than normal. Good luck and have nice day.

My 1998 Explorer on startup idiling to high, it occasionally revs up and down while idiling. Is there a trottle position sensor that controls the idiling rpm?

there is a tps located on the intake where the inlet tube for air intake connects, it would be on the left side of the throttle body. does the trk run rough on idle? up/down sputter sometimes stall? Is check engine light on? if no light, check all vacuum lines for cracks/splits loose fit. do this by spraying carb choke cleaner on connections motor rpms will change if leak is present. also spray around perimeter of intake housing where mates with lower intake if engine revs you have bad intake gasket.I Just replaced upper and lower intake on my 98 and shazaam, runs like it should. but do your checks first, unessasary fixes are costly and **** you off.

Starts easily, but won't rev for 10 mintues. After warm, max speed is low / lacks power. New plug & gas filter

Check to see if the muffler is blocked. There is a screen (spark arrester) at muffler exhaust these get blocked. Usually 1 screw holding it in. Remove screen and replace or clean. I use bernzomatic torch to burn out these deposits.

Dose the engine have a rev limiter fitted when road testing bike popping back through exhaust on over run / when taken to high rev holding back on road test

Most engines with cdi boxes have rev limiters. Popping or backfiring could also be caused by low back pressure (aftermarket muffler) and most commonly bad exhaust gaskets in the head.

Stihl ms192t, idile increases when tilted down and decreses, then quits when tilted up, have cleaned & o/h carb, removed muffler & checked for cabon, cleaned fuel tank & filter? please help

The leaner the saw the better it runs until it seizes. I suspect you have a hole in a fuel line that gets exposed to air when tipped. I would replace my fuel lines. if the problem persists time to visit your friendly neighborhood Stihl dealer.

I hope this was helpful. If this is not the problem please post back with the fix. It helps me to improve.

I have a Mcculloch Model Mac 3227 whipper snipper. I am wandering how to tune is so it does not over rev when on idil.

There should be a "HI" and a "LOW" setting. There should also be an adjustment for the idle speed. Each would have a screwdriver head on it . Look closely. You would adjust the idle setting, not either marked H or L...Lee
