Question about Javelin Systems Inc (81160083W98) PC Desktop

Javelin won't boot up

Hello, my pos makes a clickin sound and the fan seems to come on for a sec but it does not boot up.. Black screen only with a click sound, any ideas on what the problem may be? Can I get parts for it?

Constant clicking like a scratched vynil record? If that is the case, you have a faulty hard drive. Easy to fix, but the problem is the software and the database, wich will be hard (and expensive) to recover.

Sounds like you have a video driver issue. See if you can boot from your "Dell Resource" CD or any other bootable CD disk. Power on the computer and tap the F12 key to get to the "Boot Selection Menu". Insert the "Resource CD" into the CD-ROM drive. Select "Boot from CD/DVD drive" from the selection menu. If the computer boots from the CD drive then you Operating System Software is the problem.

more than likely bios isn't letting it boot, i'd make sure the fan bearing hasn't gone out, if it has you can order a new one

Our Javelin LC touchscreens are fading out to black - 4 gone now and looking for parts

Since many screens failing, we chose to just upgrade to new hardware rather than trying to fix all the failing screens. Good diagnosis anyway!

Hello,

Basically the answer is no. The Javelin LC's come with 32MB of memory...the required amount of memory for XP and 2000 Pro are double that. 64 MB of memory total needed.

So without upgrading this PC which might not even be possible then you will have to use Windows 95.

Javelin LC POS Touch system with no OS

Well you could remove the HDD from the POS, install it into a computer with a CD, remove the HDD currently in the computer, set the POS drive to the Primay Master, install Your OS and any other software (be carefull as to NOT format the POS drive, It may contain important files), remove the drive, reinstall it in the POS system, Put back the drive you removed from the computer.

YEAH SURE,, its quite easy actually

Go to the manufacture's web site if your main board or network card
in the support link, search your model device and download the driver for it..

of you can just pop any main board cd in for you and it should use the default driver as most is standered LET ME KONOW IF OU HAVE TROUBLE LOCATING IT ON THE PAGE OR IF IT AINT AVIABLE
