Try keeping your hands tucked into your body as support for the camera.
Usual cause is shakey hands, are you holding away from you at arms length, this is a common thing with compact cameras, so you can see through LCD, this makes it very unstable when pressing the shutter, arms judder and then the picture is spoilt.
Have thought of buying a monopod they are very compact and will give you that extra stability when taking shots
