Infra Red codes for KR-V8070

I am trying to power my receiver on and off with the cable company's universal remote. The manual for this device lists 4 codes for kenwood receivers, (0186, 1313, 1569,1570), but none work. It has an option to "search" for the code, again, no luck...

The remote is a "UEI Atlas OCAP 5-Device" operating a digital cable box. I know that the reciever is OK because I can power it on and off with it's own remote. Also, the cable remote works fine with the other devices, (cable box, DVD, TV). Hope that's enough info...

Thanks

Player can be made to work without remote. But it is a pain.
You need to press pause then play in the right combination.and you can get both DVDs and Blu Ray disks to work. I bought a store floor model that did not have a remote. I went through the same problem when I would lose the remote for the HD-DVD player. My four year old daughter knows this trick pause pause play for DVDs and pause play pause play for blu

SOURCE: comcast on demand custom dvr 3 device codes for sony dvd-hdx576wf

It seems like most (maybe all) Sony HTIB do not work with the Comcast Custom Remote. I've found a work around that fixes the volume control and power button though. Hope it helps you all. I have a DAVHDX275 but I think this will work for most Sony HTIB systems.

What you need to do is steal some codes from a like product and then hardcode in the changes you need to the comcast remote. Set your AUX to 21232 (a sony code for TV/VCRs).

Then do the following:

1. While still on AUX, press and hold SETUP again until the remote blinks twice
2. Type 994
3. Press and release SETUP
4. Type 32975
5. Press and release VOL+
The remote should blink twice. That should reprogram the VOL+ to work with your Sony HT device. For each of the following function codes, follow the same steps and use the codes listed below:
Vol+ = 32975
Vol- = 31951
Power = 32719

Good luck. Let me know if it works.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. My decibel elections jambo remote manual does not list a cable code for my brand I have I have Comcast I called them to ask if there any codes they said you cant program the universal remote with their box...

no. you cant use that universal remote with their brand.
it uses a bunch of preprogrammed sets of ir codes in that remote.(the 4 or 5 digit code you enter only activates one of these sets)
and does not have one for their brand

you can get yourself a learning universal remote and program the keys to correspond with any ir code.you want tho (any button to any function on any device that uses ir (infra red))

Can't program my remote to my Sylvania tv! I've tried every code they had for it. It's a 13 inch tv/dvd combo and its a comcast remote. Please help!

Although you didn't explain what brand of universal remote this was for, all universe remotes have a code search option for this situation. Check the manual for your specific remote control for more details.
Often manufacturers of multiple brands will use the same infrared (IR) codes for all of their brands. For example, Panasonic and Quasar share the same codes as their parent company is Matsushita Industries. In your case Funai is the parent company of Sylvania and the parent company of Magnavox so you might want to try the Magnavox codes before doing a code search. As Funai also manufactures televisions for Toshiba and Sharp, so try those codes as well.

I don't know what cable company you have or what equipment it is but you can try 220, or 689. Those are some codes for both cox, and comcast remotes.

I need the RCA remote code for Durabrand tv

Since the Funai code does not work, you have to use the CODE SEARCH feature.

The remote may already be set up to operate your brand of TV, VCR, Laserdisc, Satellite Receiver, Audio Equipment, or Cable Box. It is pre-programmed with the following codes: TV-000, VCR1-000, AUDIO-003, and SAT•Cable Box-000. For brands that require programming, there are two ways to program: Using Code Lists or Code Search. Use Code Search if the code lists are not available or if the codes from the lists do not operate a device.

Programming a Device using CODE SEARCH
1. Manually turn on your device (TV, VCR, Laserdisc Player, Satellite Receiver, Cable Box or Audio Equipment).
2. Press and hold CODE•SRCH.
3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR1, VCR2•LD, SAT•CABLE, or AUDIO).
4. Release CODE•SRCH.
5. Press POWER repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to
100 times).
6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
7. With the device on, press another button, for example CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond,
repeat steps 1-7.
