Ring tone files corrupted or unavailable. Phone only lights up when I receive a text message, wont ring or vibrate to alert me. Only tone I can use is the AT&T Default Tone, even the other default tones wont work. Have had my phone replaced after doing a master reset 5 times and now after 3 months the new phone is doing the same thing. What is the since in having such a high tech phone if you have to reset it every few months and loose all of your personal data that has been stored on the phone. Oh and AT&T can't explain why this happens, they are clueless!!!

What causes google play app not to work on Android phone?

Corrupted data files of the Play store can cause it to suddenly stop working. Using the Application Manager, dump the Play store cache, stop it's notifications, then uninstall/disable it. Reboot the phone. Open your data connection/WiFi... go to the Play store and it should recognize the Play store requires updates. Let it update again to get a full fresh clean copy of it.

Corrupted files, how do you repair?

Can you still play the game ok? If the game you are trying to play wont start up, then the disk could be damaged. If it is downloaded content, then the file could be corrupt and require a more stable connection to install. You may have to delete everything about the said game including offline files to reinstall. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Do DLL files get corrupted by playing games?

No... dll's usually get corrupted by viruses or malware. Unfortunately, if you are talking about online games though, they tend to be targeted by those same virus and malware creators thereby indirectly the games might be the cause of the corruption. For example, the Facebook games websites are constantly being targeted by virus and malware makers and we literally see hundreds of people from there every week that have serious infestations which cause problems like corruped dll's. Just arm yourself with an arsenal of FREE anti-malware programs and a good anti-virus program and you will be ok.

It keeps telling me a file is corrupted. ive restarted & everything but every time i turn back on the message pops up. Do u know what i can do?

If you get a corrupted file, there really is not anything you can do. Corrupted files are generally caused by somehow forcing a process to stop while it's writing to a file, and that file becomes corrupted. For example, if I am playing a game and I try to save, but then get bored of waiting and turn off the console while it's still saving, the file will become corrupted and unusable.

Don't fall for online scams of tools trying to recover corrupted files, there is really no way to save a file that's been corrupted. You should just delete the file and move on. If it's DLC you can redownload it, if it's a game save you can work your way back.

I had to hard reset mine to fix the problem. this thread has a way to do that on it.

if you are worried about losing everything on your phone just sync it up with your computer and it will save all your contacts and pictures/music so after the reset you can put them back on your phone.

Hi Guys,
I have the same corrupted file, but you can recover it by using the GoldWave software. Just type"Goldwave" in google, follow the link and download the software, install it. From that software open the corrupted file, and then save it as a new copy. ( It will fix the problem when opening the file, where you can see it). They try to play the new saved file, shld be fine.
all the best.

Help to recover or repair a corrupted file on my daughter's sansa mp3 player

If the file is corrupted then there is no way for you to play nor listen to it. If the player is saying the file is corrupted and to test if the file is really corrupted please try to do this steps. Connect the player to the computer. Open My Comptuer window and open the player locate the file and try to copy that file to your desktop and play that file. If the file copied and played successfully then that good. If not the only way to prevent this is to format the player. Change the player to MSC mode then connect to the computer and open my computer and right-click on the player and choose format remove the check on the quick format and click start to format the player. Formatting the player will delete all the files and data on the device and it will fix any bad sectors that would cause file corruption on the player.
