Hello, this is a long shot, but thought I would try. I have a pair of Motorola t5620 that have worked great up until now. I have everything set the same on both units. Channel 3-1 one has a display beside...

I looked in the user guide of some other TalkAbout models and found the emblem you are describing. I believe it is the volume control emblem. Here is a link where you can look for yourself see page 24.

You might have one of three problems:
1) The volume potentiometer is going bad in one of the radios. If this is the case, you may be able to find a sweet spot where it will work. Try moving the volume knob to different settings and see if you can get it to work.
2) Something is wrong with your PL code setting, VOX setting, or another setting on the radio. Go back to square one, and reprogram the radio for simple operation with no special features turned on. Then try using the radios together. If you still cannot communicate, one of your radios is bad and the only way to tell is to introduce another known good radio into the mix.
3) The radio which will not transmit might have a bad battery. It takes more energy to Transmit than to Receive. Try swapping the batteries and see if the problem moves to the other radio. If so, replace your battery.

Here is a link to the T5620 user guide, just in case someone reading this needs it:

Best regards.

What this code indicate mean that your radio have have been compress with power however the can also be an indication of lower power supply but most of the time is always power compress.

What you need to do to solve this code problem is to put off the radio for some time allow it relax, then remove the battery if possible after some time replace it if you are able to remove the battery then put on the radio and operate it.

Good luck.

How do i get the channels to change on vx10 radio selector does not seem to change them radio recently repaired by yaesu and user manual not much help

The dial is probably locked. Look for a little padlock symbol on the display. Check the user manual for Dial or keyboard lock. Generally on Yaesu radios you use the function key plus a keyboard key. If the keyboard is labeled, you should see something that looks like a padlock next to the correct function key.

No display

LCD display failure after dropage is common. The display would need to be replaced by a qualified Motorola service facility. If the radio functions w/o the display, and you can get by, you could use the radio until you have other needs for service. Flat-rate repair for this style unit is usually around $240.

Radio will not transmit, display seems wrong

Here is a link to the user manual for the SV600R. Follow the instructions to reprogram the affected radio. Note: The problem you are describing may not be simply programming. The radio problem may be non-reversible. You might also try a new battery, or switch the battery from the other unit for a test, just to see if the battery is bad.

Motorola T6550 pair.

I can see where this feature can seem somewhat inconsistent. But if you think of it like a phone ringing, it is easier to understand. Once you have answered the phone, the phone stops ringing. And the person who called you never experiences a ring on their end.

VibraCall® Alert
Page 26: VibraCall is a vibrating alert that notifies you that your radio is receiving a message. This is useful in noisy environments. When the alert is on, the radio
vibrates once every 30 seconds when you receive a message on the channel and
code you set.
• To turn vibrating alerts on, press menu until the vibrating radio symbol is displayed, then press the plus (+) button to display the letter Y for Yes.
• To turn vibrating alerts off, press menu until the vibrating radio symbol is displayed, then press the minus (-) button until the minus symbol (-) is displayed.

It sounds like the radio may be in service or programming mode. Try turning it off, remove the battery, and reconnect the battery. Let me know if that solves the problem or not.
