A problem with the hard drive has been detected.

Back-up your critical data immediately, then shut-down the PC and do not use it until you consult a local PC-repair shop. Likely you are looking at a possible new Hard drive, (and labor to install windows.)

Depending on how bad it is, sometimes we can get a good 'image' of the drive before it dies completely, (which is why you DO NOT want to keep using it,) and if so....they can give it back to you with a brand-new drive and it will be as if it never had a problem.

If they can't get a good 'image' of the old drive, then all they can do is put windows back on it and you will have to re-install all your programs again.

You should think about asking them if they do a drive-image service.
A once-a-year imaging, (and storage,) of your HD for disaster recovery in the future. It's not *IF* your HD will fail.....it's WHEN.

Computer restarts randomly

If you are using Windows (XP, Vista or 7) then open the Computer properties by clicking on the Computer icon (on desktop or start menu) then go to the Advanced page tab and check if you have the option to automatically restart the system set on in the Startup and Recovery Settings section. If this is on, then Windows will restart the system any time that a critical error is encountered.

The other place to check is in the Windows Event logs (system log) provided this option is enabled.
You should be able to access the event logs by right clicking on the Computer icon and then selecting the Manage option followed by opening the Event viewer where you should look for any critical, error or warning entries that may occur at the times when the computer restarts itself (or posted immediately when it restarts).

C2A2: system event log (sel) full

even tough you did not specify the generation of your server
if this is the complete error message

02a2: BMC System Error Log (SEL) Full
Press F1 to Continue, Press F2 to Setup
The System Event Log may become full of erroneous IPMI Events reported by the System BIOS
this is the way to resolve it :
If the above message appears during POST, perform the following steps to run BIOS setup and delete the System Event Log:
  1. Boot the server and press the F10 key when prompted to run BIOS Setup.
  2. Select the "Advanced" menu.
  3. Scroll down to "IPMI" and press the ENTER key.
  4. Scroll down to the System Event Log and press the ENTER key.
  5. At the "Clear System Event Log" selection, press the ENTER key to toggle between "Enable" and "Disable."
  6. Select "Enable."
  7. Press the F10 key to Save the changes and exit the BIOS Setup

  1. Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.

  4. Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
  5. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options, END setup. After the reboot read Warning#2!
  6. Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact. If you get files not found during the copying stage.
