Hello,
Assuming there aren't any other faulty electrical components your GFCI will trip as a result of the heater element short circuiting.
Typically this happens when water infiltrates the heater element's protective outer coating and comes in contact with the internal heating coil. The culprit could be corrosion but usually it is a pin sized hole in the element which will lead to a short circuit.
When this happens the element has failed and cannot be repaired it must be replaced.

SOURCE: SPA Filter on while Spa is Heating

you have one jandy valve ( the suction valve in front of the pump) that is not working right when you press spa mode. have someone watch the valves to see if they move when you press spa mode and heat inside the house. if the one in front of the pump does not move and the switch is in operating mode then that valve is bad and will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: I have Jandy RS4 system with 4-button poolside

Pull the cover off the control panel. You will probably find a button which would be accessible from outside the panel with a paper clip or pencil but is unlabeled. On the board itself by the button, in small letters it should say "reset". Push the button and see what happens.

EasyPak 1000 Flex-Fit Air Spa Control System. Everything works fine, except, when plug in heater power. Gfci trips. When unplut heater power, everything works

GFCI blows because you have a short to ground. Check your wiring for loose connections and your heater core element.

The pump shorts out when heater is put on

Electric spa control?
what do you mean pump shorts out? Are you saying a breaker trips or a GFCI trips?
if so, it has nothing to do with the pump, if it's already running. But once the heater engages and the breaker trips, then you have about heater element.

My hydroquip 9000 trips the gfci when it starts now. the heater, pump, blower and everything was working fine till the power went out. when the power came on the spa didn't work? there is a reset button on...

If the GFCI is tripping, the reset button will not do anything. If it was fine before the electricity shut off, it is possible that while the pump was not running, water got into the inside of the pack, and that is what is causing the GFCI to trip. An electrical surge may have damaged the GFCI, itself. Those are the two things that might be related to the power going out.
The most common cause for tripping GFCI's are a heater that has a ground fault. A distant second is a bad GFCI. If it starts to run, then quickly trips, it is almost certainly the heater.

I have a Beachcomber Model 350 hot tub abd the GFCI is tripped and won't reset

You may have a bad heating element. But first make sure you have power to the gfci. (check the braker) You can test this by disconnecting the heater leads and see if it will reset. If it still trips try disconnecting your equipment one at a time, ie. blower, ozone, circ pump, booster pumps. If nothing solves the gfci issue you need to replace the gfci. All of this is assuming you have a blank gfci receptical monted to your spa pack.

If your talking about the 50 amp gfci at the braker box try pushing the braker all the way to the off position then back to the on possition. If it trips right away do the above.

Why is the gfci tripping on my hot tub after being on for 30 min. After resetting the breaker after the 30 min. run, it trips immediately!!!

Hi,
You will want to make sure that all of your spa equipment is functioning properly. It is best for a spa technician or electrician to determine this issue.
It is likely that a particular piece of equipment is turning on around the 30 min time frame and causing the breaker to trip. Pump, ozonator or similar. Also check the heater element, a pin sized hole in the element will cause it to fail. Lastly your spas breaker itself could be bad.
Good luck!

We have a 2004 Balboa series spa and the breaker keeps tripping what could cause this? Everything has been working fine.

Understand that this information is beingprovided as-is and without warranty or guarantee. As with all electricalcomponents and devices, all work should be performed by a licensed spa or pooltechnician. Serious injury or death can occur if a component is improperlyrepaired or installed.

There are several reasons the breaker can trip. It could bea bad pump, bad heater, GFCI or wiring issue.... Typically unplugging eachcomponent will help isolate which component is causing the trip. It is rare fora board to cause a breaker trip, so if all components (including both legs ofthe heater) are disconnected and the breaker continues to trip then you move onto wiring or the GFCI.

My hot tub keeps tripping the breaker and will only stay on for a short period of time before tripping the breaker. What can I do?

Check for a water leak in the electrical areas of your spa... specifically look closely around the heater terminals, look for wet and corroded connections... If this spa is wired to a plug-in outlet, look at the GFCI plug assembly as well... You can also try disconnecting the blower, pump, heater, etc, from the control pack (one at a time) to determine which item is causing the tripping.

gfci's are designed to trip if they receive voltage on there ground/neutral side, therefore my vote is for Smithbrother I would say there is probably a partial short somewhere in you system.
