Question about Flat Panel Televisions

1 Answer

Follow up Thanks again. I agree - I was one of those brainwashed into belieiving the TVs had to start with an S to be good. Two quick ones - what do you like of the Intelligent sensor mode? What is your opinion on having set calibrated by Best Buy (cost is $300). Will they not even offer as good as settings as you provided and do they adjust grey scale? Would be interested in your opinion if it is worth it. Thanks again, much appreciated! Have a good one!

Http://www.imagingscience.com/ isf certified is the only people i will let touch my tvs, my best friend calibrates all my stuff and yes hes isf calibrated the funny thing i actually know more than him, but hey i let him shine why not hes my friend, but yeah go to this site and put in your zip or city sorry its been a while since ive been here, best buy no offense but i wouldnt let those kids plug in my tv, well im only 28 so i guess if not actually the old wise but sorry to get to the point yes now some bestbuys claim to have isf certified reps but i would go with the guys that have been doing it for ever. all should be able to run a grey scale i am running one on my z4 right now actually, plus 300 is kinda high call a isf tech let him come over and see ur isf ccc able tv and he will smile the only thing about the lg70 that could have been better would have been the feature that would have in abled you to adjust the intensity in the color managment oh well still an excellent excellent tv, yeah not the greatest blacks but hey blacks are not even technically a color, but as i am a videophile through and through i am very very happy with this set. sorry for all the extra jumbo.

let me know if you need anyother help but my settings are running straight as a ruler all the way up to 100 pretty damn close to 6500 10- 100, thats very very rare even for broadcast monitors specs.

sorry i meant to say yes my friend is isf certified and the intelligent sensor is nice no its not running flat as a ruler but for a normal joe and u dont have your tv isf calibrated then yes its a great tool but once your monitor looks like it should well then its kinda pointless(because it would be like turning to a sd channel when you have the same channel in hd catch my drift. but expert mode 1 and 2 will be changed to day and night by the tech so then you can just switch accordingly, but as far as ease of use it cant be beat plus hey saving a few extra bucks by doing nothing well you cant beat that but like i said if you get it calibrated then you will have your two options.

I have a sharp tv Lc-70le632U. Tv is blinking 1 quick and 1 slow. I reset the tv to factory default but after some time it start blinking again. Do I need to change power/inverter? Please help

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

I have a Samsung un55f7100af smart tv that all of a sudden has started self switching from hdmi to analog input. is this due to intermittent cable signal?

Some TVs will attempt to revert to analog if the digital signal gets weak, gets too much noise or is simply lost. I assume it is fairly quickly returning to digital? If this continues contact your cable provider. They will likely check you signal strength and make sure you have good quality connections.

Actually, they are not responsible, and I agree with your feeling otherwise. The sad news is you cannot repair many electronics, because of labor costs...Making TVs a disposable item....

After selection an input option the input menu stays up until you push "exit". Then it reverts to the tv input option canceling out any other menu selection. If you then try another route to get...

what has happened is there is a controller for menus and the selection of channel's av hdmi etcafter a hwile with some tvs they start to go on the blink it coud be worse i have had people with tvs that wont change channel keep jumping back and people without a signal atall the only thing you can do if it is unbearable is get the unit replaced or with some tvs a simple firmware update does the job as it resets everything but with most tvs the unit will need replaced it will cost no more than 100 dollars at a good tv repair store

Frozen picture on LG LCD 37"

Try One of your working TVS and connect it to your cable outlet of the TV that is having problems. If that TV Does not work then there may be a degraded fitting or the Leg coming of the splitter to that outlet could have a Low Signal Problem
Next Take the First TV that was not working properly and put it on the cable outlet of one of the TVs that is working properly and if the TV set works on that Channel then you know it is not your TV that it must be the cable

Vizio l32 turns on makes noise then off again then over again

Take out the 450 v -150mfd cap and replace it, that is causing your problem.also check your flyback transformer it probably needs to be replace.check and see if high voltage is not escaping from the anode of your crt.

good luck
