If you have checked the switch, the switch wire and fitted a new plug, you must face the fact the ignition unit itself requires replacement ( assuming it has electronic ignition ) if it has contact breaker points you may need to clean/replace the points.

SOURCE: RYOBI Expand It 2 stroke engine. RY26000 won't

I had the same issue. I disassembled carb and cleaned. Started up, but ran poorly. Looked at a few google searches and found a forum about his issue. I came across a write up about failed muffler bearings. I did some research, but to no avail. on part numbers. I went to a repair shop and inquired about how to get a muffler bearing ordered for my unit. It has been about a week since I was at the shop and I did call, but they assure me that they are working on getting this part for me. Apparently these motor parts are made in China and that can create some issues when trying to get parts. I may have to let the repair shop do the repair since I was told it may be a bit complicated to replace without having the experience. If it is as difficult to locate, I would not want to damage it when trying to install and have to get another. I will be glad to repost once it has been repaired. Perhaps this muffler bearing is an issue with a lot of other units and we may be able to contact the manufacturer for a refund or a free muffler bearing? I hope!!! Good luck out there and hang tight. I may be on to something here, I've got a good feeling about this.

Red max eb7001 has new coil, gapped right still no spark. im going crazy

1) The primary circuit: is battery, cap, resistor, capacitor, switch ignition+secondary circuit spark plug, distributor, high tension wires+spark plug.
the mayor problem arise in the coil and distributor, And the most common problem INCORRECT Choice de spark plugs or improperly gapped.
Rememeber the coil send 20,000-30,000 Vdc for spark plug.
Test with a screwdriver , pull out the center wire from the distributor cap and hold 3/8inch from a good ground. Crack the engine, if there no spark, or the spark is weak, the coil is defective or the high tension wires.
2) Bypass by a moment the baas resistor with a jumper wire while cranking engine If the engine starts, replace the ballast resistor.

God bless you.

Need a wiring diagram for spark plugs for a 1995 jeep Cherokee sport

V6 engine: firing order: 1 2 3 4 5 6, distributor rotates clockwise. Left bank of engine (driver's side), cylinders 2, 4, 6 (#2 at front of engine). Right bank: 1, 3, 5 (#1 at front of engine).
Inline 6 engine: firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Distributor rotates clockwise.
The number one tower on the dist. cap should have a mark or numeral 1 on it. If not, turn crankshaft to top dead center of compression stroke on number one cylinder, the 0 degrees or "T" mark on the crank pulley pointer. If you are on the compression stroke (not the exhaust stroke), the rotor under the dist. cap will be pointing to the number one cylinder spark plug wire tower.

Hi i have a dinli 100cc quad bike .the quad will nt start and there is no ignition i have checked the spark plug so can you help me if you can i will be very happy

I assume that is a 100cc, 2 stroke ATV? If the starter motor is spinning, and you just don't have any spark. First, replace the spark plug. If that doesn't fix it, then you may have one of the following problems: Bad CDI, Kill Switch or Rip Cord Shut off switch, Frayed wire shorting out, cracked/damaged spark plug cap, bad coil or coil wire, bad stator. My bet is on the kill switch and/or Lanyard/Rip Cord shut off switch or the CDI. You can bypass your shutoff switches to see if they are the problem by either disconnecting the wires or connecting them together(depending on the type of system you have). CDI's routinely fail on small engines and generally cost about $20-$70, depending on the style.

I have a Briggs & Stratton 18.5 HP Twin Cylinder engine that has no spark. How can I check the magneto? And, there is a wire that goes to the magneto. Should there be 12v to that wire? If I replace the...

It all depends on the model of engine. If it is a twin engine doesn't it have two magnetos.Very unusual for both to go bad It will depend on the type of ignition(points or solid state) The wire going to the magneto could be the kill switch (kills when grounded) Disconnect it and see if you get spark. IF so then it is in your safety/ignition circuit. If you replace magneto usually the gap is .008-.012

Replace the fuel filter, fuel lines, primer button (if equipped), and disassemble the carburetor, clean, and re-kit. Jet needles are preset at 1-1/2 turns CCW from stops (lightly). Make sure the spark plug fires a snappy blue spark when pulled through. If nothing, ignition parts prices and availability may justify replacing the saw with a new one. If sparks ok, start the engine and let warm up. Open the throttle and adjust H needle CW till the engine speeds up, but still 4-strokes. Proper setting is when the engine will 4-stroke, but immediately 2-stroke when cutting. Let the engine idle and adjust L CW so that the engine idles fairly well, but allows the engine to 'follow the throttle' Hope this helps!

sounds like no spark, remove spark plug from engine pop it back into plug cap, hold spark plug with insulated pliers,so electrode is earthed on engine head get some one to trie to start engine wilst you earth plug and see if it sparks.if it dont trie another spark plug if still no spark bye a spark plug tester from local motorfactors (fits between spark plug and cap)screw sparkplug back into engine pop on plug tester pop coil leed on top of tester and trie to start if you see no spark in tester your coil pack probably shoot.or if it has an engine safety cutoff switch that may be faulty

Will not start

Did you try replacing the spark plug? You can easily fowl out a spark plug on a 2 stroke engine. Once the plug is satuarted with gas it will not spark. Try replacing it first. Then make sure that your on/off switch is working properly. Sometimes they come apart inside the housing and it may need to be replaced. One more thing, check to see if the spark plug wire is shorting out on something, either the metal flange or part of the engine's metal covering. Hope this helps.

280Zx ignition problem

Your car should be a L-28 1,5,3,6,2,4 on the cap looking straight down at the cap:( the rotation on the cap is counter clock ways( release the distributor cap remove the 1 spark plug (1st plug closest to the front of the engine) remove the coil wire from distributor cap and ground on a stud sticking up on a bolt on engine. crank engine with a hand held starter switch. till crankshaft timing mark lines up on 8% after top dead center. remove remote start switch take a long screw driver and place it into the 1 spark plug hole (if the screw driver drops all more then 8 in. you are on exhaust stroke if it drops a couple in you are on compression stroke) it needs to be on compression stroke if it is not then remove screw driver and reconnect remote start switch. turn engine over till it has made 1 hole revaluation back to the mark on flywheel. remove remote start switch. place screw driver back into spark plug hole it should drop a couple inches. remove screw driver replace plug. and wire on spark plug now looking down at the distributor. the rotor should just be hitting the 1 spark plug going counter clock ways that post on the cap is 1 spark plug( place plug wires looking down at top of cap 1,5,3,6,2,4 on the block 1 ,2,3,4,5,6 replace cap and clamp . replace coil wire . remove vacuum advance, vacuum line and plug. loosen distributor. install a timing light and start engine . pointing timing light at crank shaft. you will see the timing mark on the crank shaft twist distributor til marks line up stop engine and tighten distributor recheck timing after tighten to make share it is still right you have about &% you can be advanced and still be ok replace vacuum and you shouls be all good.....
